Get Discovery/View Service Metadata
2 scenarios to choose from for publishing INSPIRE service metadata in
extended capabilities
• Scenario 1
– By reference to an INSPIRE service metadata record in a Discovery
service
• Scenario 2
– Provide full INSPIRE service metadata
To fulfill the specific language requirements of the NS regulation, a language
section needs to be added in the extended capability of the service.

CRs to OGC and ISO/TC 211
Request ID: 137
Alignment multilingualism Inspire view service with OGC and ISO/TC 211
standards (at least OWS Common 2.0) (All INSPIRE network services are
subject to languages support not only view)
Request ID: 138
Service metadata WMS 1.3.0 and ISO 19119 differs: alignment is needed
in future versions of OWS common 2.0 with (newest version of) ISO 19115
(the service metadata model of ISO 19119 is included in newest version of
ISO 19115)

Overview of IOC Services
• Total number of discovery services 26
– 2 are fully TG 3.0 compliant all others partially or no compliancy
• Approx. 240000 Metadata
• Problems with schemas:
– Errors with basic OGC CSW 2.0.2 and metadata (ISO 19139)
– Metadata not according to Metadata TG
• View services are found through the Discovery service
– In total 270 metadata for services
– 42 representing View services with ~310 layers
– Most ISO 19128 (OGC 1.3) based, others WMS 1.1.1
– Only a few with full service and layer metadata (TG 3.0 compliant)
Note: Results above are based on preliminary tests.
