"Emily & Einstein" by Linda Francis Lee

Emily Portman is an up-and-coming New York City editor whose life is everything she imagined it would be. She has a job she loves and a beautiful Upper West Side apartment with her husband, Sandy. But everything changes in one night when Sandy dies in a tragic accident, and soon Emily is stunned to discover that her marriage was made up of lies. Haunted by distorting memo-ries of the man she lost, Emily's only comfort is a mysterious, scruffy dog named Einstein, who comes into her life at just the right moment―and stands by her side as she confronts her own past, and embarks on finding new and true love.

CHILDREN HELPING

CHILDREN

SUNDAY, AUGUST 9,

1 PM 3 PM

SANTA, GAMES, AND

A magical place exists in Middlefield Ohio - Santa's summer home where children with a serious illness

and their entire family can have a very special day.

Cleveland Clinic, MetroHealth, Rainbow, Akron Children's and other local hospitals have a wonderful

arrangement with Santa to provide Christmas in the summer when sick children can enjoy meeting

Santa, his elves and reindeer. They have a full day of activities- ride the train, go fishing, visit the beauty

salon, see entertainment, enjoy ice cream and snacks, and, of course, tell Santa their wishes and take

home a gift.

For children with health challenges, this is a memorable day away from the hospital. With their families,

they have the freedom to be outdoors, in warm weather, finding the joy and magic of Christmas.

Lakeside Yacht Club has a plan to help Santa and his elves. We have invited Santa to visit LYC and we

want to surprise him with presents that he can share with his special children.

Please bring a toy for an infant or toddler up to age 2.

need to wrap because the elves like do that job.

Cash donations are welcome -look for the donation box.

Santa's Hideaway Hollow on 93 wooded acres, is not open to the public. It exists only for invited

children with serious or life-threatening health conditions. The Hollow is staffed by volunteers and

relies on the generosity of individuals and groups.

Santa is also on call year round, whenever a sick child needs to see him. He goes to hospitals with elves

and gifts- never saying "no" when asked to visit. For more information visit www.santashideawayhollow.comand

LAKESIDE YACHT CLUB

MEMBER BOND PROGRAM

The renovation of the clubhouse, pool and deck is nearing completion. Our current best estimate is that the project will cost approximately $156,000 or 7% more than planned. The Board of Trustees authorized spending the funds necessary to complete the project this summer. The Board has further authorized a Member Bond Program to raise the funds for the completion. Your Trustees believe that additional new members who will be attracted to our new club facilities will eventually provide the funds needed to pay off these bonds without a dues or fee increase at this time. The bonds purchased by the member will be used to cover construction changes and assist in the purchase of new furniture and landscaping not included in the construction budget.

The Lakeside Member Bond Program is tailored after a successful Edgewater Yacht Club program used to raise money for a new swimming pool in 2010. Our program will be open to all members in good standing. Purchase of the twelve year bonds will be voluntary. Members can purchase bonds in increments of $500 up to a maximum $10,000 per member. There are no limits on the number of bonds a member can purchase subject to the maximum noted below. The maximum amount of any single bond is $10,000. The bonds will pay 5% annual interest. This compares favorably to 1.8% on ten year Treasury Notes and the 5% we expect to pay on our permanent bank financing. Bonds are available to purchase now. Bond sales will close August 31 or earlier if we reach $200,000 before August 31. Full details are in the Bond Purchase Agreement.

You can purchase a bond by completing the Bond Purchase Agreement and W-9 form and returning them by mail or in person along with your check payable to Lakeside Yacht club. Once accepted by the Treasurer, a copy of the signed Agreement will be sent to you

evidencing your ownership.

Sincerely,

The Board and Bridge of Lakeside Yacht Club

Winter Storage 2016

3.17 Winter storage shall be available to Senior, Junior and Dry Boating Members in good standing on a “space available” basis. Due to the lim-ited space, the Club cannot assure storage space to every Member and, therefore, will allocate space per the following criteria:

Storage accommodations will be provided according to seniority for Members that have met these conditions.

4.
