The ProductsMicro CHNS/O Elemental Analyzer

vario MICRO cube

• Completely new instrument for CHNS analysis, market introduction in 2006.

• Unique method for combustion gas separation by Temperature Programmed Desorption. TPD (patent pending), combines high performance of purge-and-trap with simplicity of GC.

• Complementary to the existing line of instruments.

Temperature programmed desorption with single-column technology

The „TPD“ technology is a very straight forward method to separate the gaseous compounds by complete adsorption and subsequent element specific desorption. It guarantees baseline separation of CHNS under all conditions.

The Products Universal CHNS/O Elemental Analyzer

vario EL cube

• Concept and performance of the 4th generation of the most successful CHNOS elemental analyzers sets again the standards for this class of instruments.

• Less than 1 mg pharmaceuticals

can be analyzed just as precise as

larger amounts of soil samples.

• Micro to semi-macro sample size

• CHNS+O+Cl

• Unrivalled versatility

The ProductsThe art of elemental analysis

vario MACRO cube

• CNFast and safe alternative to Kjeldahl for N-Protein analysis

• CHNApplications for fossil fuels, incinerationplants and environmental analysis.

• CNSSoil, plant, environmental or industrial samples.

• CHNSThe first CHNS macro analyzer!

Applications for all kinds of samples

with inhomogeneities or low element concentrations.

Purge and Trap with multi-columnchromatography

In the vario EL cube and vario MACRO cube a multi-column technology is realized to separate even larger sample sizes. The gaseous compounds are adsorbed at element specific columns and one after the other released by a temperature supported desorption. All elements are analyzed simultaneously from a single sample.

The ProductsMacro elemental analyzers with reusable sample crucibles

vario MAX• N/CN

may be operated in carbon/nitrogen modeor the faster N/protein mode acc. to the Dumas combustion method.

• CNS analyzer applications include plants, soil or industrial products.

• CHN addresses the needs of carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen analysis in fossil fuels and incineration plants.

The ProductsThe compact power in N-protein analysis

rapid N cube

• Nitrogen/protein analyzer according to Dumas for routine analysis of samples such as food or animal feed up to 1 g sample weight.

• The rapid N cube is a fast, safe and environmentally friendly alternative to the classical Kjeldahl method.

• The rapid N cube is a particularly reliable and durable instrument.

rapid N cube

The rapid N cube – the most economic way to determine N/protein by the DUMAS method – the most efficient alternative to Kjeldahl.

Protein is calculated by multiplying the total nitrogen amount with a factor f. This factor varies between 5.35 – 6.35.

The ProductsTOC + TNb analyzers

vario TOC cube

• Most modern high temperature TOC/TNb analyzer (2008) based on the "cube" platform.

• Largest concentration range from 5 ppb to 60,000 ppm TOC in liquids or 0-50 mg C (or 100%) in solids.

• Unique concept for integrated liquidsampling of up to 80 samples orsolids up to 120 sample positions.

• Innovative matrix separation forthe analysis of very difficult samplessuch as brine, sludges or suspensions.

The ProductsSpecial elemental analyzers

rapid CS cubeSulfur/Carbon analyzer

• Total sulfur/carbon analyzer for fast and precise analysis in coal and other organic and most inorganic substances.

• Based on the "cube" technology withstate of the art micro electronics and mechanics introduced in 2008.

• Unmatched performance from ppm to 100% with just one high performance NDIR detector.

• Lowest cost per analysis and very long operation time based on high temperature catalytic combustion in a quartz glass tube.

How to select within the vario family: Micro or Macro Analyzer

Main distinguishing feature is the amount of organically bound carbon

to be analyzed in one sample.

• Absolute carbon detection range:

0 – 7 mg vario MICRO cube

0 – 40 mg vario EL cube

0 – 100 (150) mg vario MACRO cube

0 – 200 (400) mg vario MAX

How to select within the vario family II

Sample handling and injection (2)

Samples (liquids or solids) are filled in an open and reusable crucible

(steel or ceramic) and moved by a robot arm into the combustion

zone.

After combustion the crucible with

the remaining ash (minerals)

is automatically removed.

Analyzer: vario MAX

How to select within the vario family III

• Sample handling and injection (3)

Samples (liquids or gases) are injected directly into the

combustion

zone by means of an automatic or manual syringe.

Analyzers: vario EL cube with VLS
