 …a society where freedom, equality, peace and progress reigns where the Indigenous Peoples enjoys the full recognition of their basic rights, rights to ancestral domain, and rights to self-determination.

 Its mandate is…

 …to comprehensively and holistically empower the Indigenous Peoples in the region towards the attainment of their long term aspiration for ancestral land rights, respect and recognition of their culture, and the right to self-determination as an indigenous people.

It works towards achieving … 

Consolidated and strong tribal organizations and federations in each province affiliated with the regional IP federation – with high capability and capacity to manage and implement integrated and comprehensive programs and services.

A sustainable data resource base that serve the IP POs, the UCCP, and other sectors and institutions with readily available information on IP situation in the region.

IP Leaders at all levels with high knowledge, skills and capabilities in every level and line of work pertaining to organizational tasks and responsibilities.

Significant number of IP population in the region who are literate (able to read, write and count) and is provided with sustained education service.

IP communities with functional community health systems and health programs that continuously provides services to members of their respective community.

IP communities with sound and dynamic socio-economic programs and systems based on sustainable development geared towards their alleviation from endemic poverty.

Empowered IP communities whose members along with its women are able to launch, manage and sustain campaign, advocacy and networking activities towards unifying themselves with the greater society and exercise substantial participation in local governance, environmental and social issues that confront and affect their present and future welfare.

The Integrated Development Program for Indigenous People – Southern Tagalog (IDPIP-ST) is….

A non-evangelical special development and service program for Indigenous Peoples under the United Church of Christ in the Philippines-Southern Luzon Jurisdictional Area (UCCP-SLJA).

UCCP-SLJA’s expression of heeding the World Council of Churches’ “urgent call for the Churches to support indigenous Peoples’ right to self-determination with regard to their political and economic future, culture, land rights, spirituality, language, tradition and forms of organization, and the protection of Indigenous Peoples’ knowledge including intellectual property rights.” (2.26. Rights of Indigenous Peoples, World Council of Churches. Statement on Human Rights, December 1998, Hararo, Zimbabwe)

It takes roots from… the rich community-based development work and learning experiences of the Mangyan Integrated Development Program (MIDP) which implemented starting 1988 in the two provinces of Mindoro Oriental and Mindoro Occidental.

Thru vigorous, community-based and participative capacity-building activities such as organizing, education, training and development lead to the unification and institutionalization of a self-reliant and empowered inter-tribal federation of the 7 tribes of Hanunuo, Alangan, Gubatnon, Iraya, Bangon, Buhid and Tadyawan, then established as the Samahang Pantribo ng mga Mangyan ng Mindoro (SPMM).
