Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight IEC Activities

The Directorate of Health Services had observed Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight all over the Goa from 11th July 2016 to 23rd uly 2016 through all the Urban Health Centres/ Community Health Centres & Primary Health Centres. Following major functions has been held as follows, in addition to the programmes at UHC/CHC/PHC level.

State Level Function State level function was held at Harmal Panchkroshi Higher Secondary School, Harmal-Pernem on 19th July 2016. Hon’ble Dy. Chief Minister/ Health Minister Shri. Francis D,Souza was the chief guest for the function and Smt. Smita Parsekar, Manager of the Harmal Panchkroshi Sansthan/ Headmistress of HPHS was the guest of honour. Detail programme:

Dr. Vandana Dhume, CMO, SFWB, DHS spoke on the topic with the help of LCD projector.

Shri. Francis D’Souza, Hon’ble Dy. Chief Minister/ Health Minister address the gathering.

Dr. Uttam Dessai, Health Officer, CHC Pernem proposed vote of thanks.

After inaugural session Staff of CHC Pernem presented one skit on the topic and also demonstrated preparation of ORS and how to use it and also demonstrated Handwashing.

Also ORS corner was innaugrated by the guest.

Dr. Sanjeev Dalvi, Director of Health Services; Shri. Aran Bankar, ZP member; Shri. Dwarkanath Naik, Panch & Secretary of Harmal Panchkroshi Sansthan;Shri. Babi Kerkar, Panch Member; Smt. Asha Chari, Principal of HPHSS were also present on the dais.

Around 500 people including students, health staff, Anganwadi worker, general public participated in the programme.

South Goa District level function at PHC Dharbandora South Goa district level function on Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight was

held on 16th July 2016 at Primary Health Centre, Dharbandora. The detail function is as follow

Smt. Anjali Dessai, Ayurvedic welcome the function and also did compering.

Then Floral welcome and traditional lamp lightning

Dr. Sandesh Madkaikar, Health Officer, PHC Dharbandora spoke on the topic.

Staff of the PHC Dharbandora demonstrated the ORS preparation and also handwashing.

Smt. Reema Naik, ex-ZP member and guest of honour spoke on the occasion.

Smt. Suvarna Tendulkar, ZP member addressed the public on the occasion.

Dr. Amey Raikar, Medical Officer; Mukhya Sevika; Mr. Umesh Kholkar, Extension Educator, SFWB,DHS were also present on the dais.

Smt. Annapurna Dhukle, Extension Educator proposed vote of t hanks.

Around 100 people participated in the programme including students, staff and health staff, Anganwadi Workers etc.

North Goa District level function at Aldona South Goa district level function on Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight was

held on 13th July 2016 at Parish Centre, Aldona under Primary Health Centre, Aldona.

The detail function is as follow

Dr. Vijeta kalekar, Medical Officer, SFWB,DHS spoke on ORS/ Diarrhoea

Constituency addressed the public on the occasion.

Other functions at Periphery level The IEC activity was conducted at

Nirankal under SC Nirankal under PHC Shiroda where lecture on the IDCF was given by Mr. Umesh Kholkar, Extension Educator; Dr. Vijeta Naik, MO also spoke on the occasion. Smt. Lata Gaonkar, LHV spoke on Family Planning; One of the participant

demonstrated the preparation of ORS and also Handwashing.

Electronic/ Press Media Programme on All India Radio: The information on the IDCF was also given on through All India Radio, Panaji. Dr. Vijeta kalekar, Junior Consultant and Mr. Umesh Kholkar, Extension Educator, SFWB,DHS conducted interview on the topic. All other Primary Health Centres, Community Health Centres, Urban Health Centres are conducting the programmes.
