Recommendations

The UDW data appearing later in this brief is helpful but not conclusive. Page view are consistent, with 99,435 total page views from Q3-FY13 through Q1-FY15. Total rating count for this asset is 20.VariableQ3-FY13Q4-FY13Q1-FY14Q2-FY14Q3-FY14Q4-FY14Q1-FY15

If some of the following SEO, voice, promotion, and reorganization suggestions are implemented, the next likely step is to analyze UDW data again in 3 to 6 months.

ReorganizationUpdate: Topic Last Modified: 2013-12-18 appearing in published asset should reflect last known 7/24/2014Rawhide publish date?Update: Revise summary to omit Learn about and use, arguably, a more prominent keyword like export? For example: Export a site, list, or document library in SharePoint 2013 by using the SharePoint Central Administration website or Windows PowerShell. (137 characters). Position keywords as close to beginning of summary as possible.Update: Expand summary paragraph to include PowerShell export and Central Admin export procedure keywords?Update: Consider adding output file format pdf keyword to summary paragraph? Add details about available output file formats later in content too? Later in Keyword research, see how pdf is used by customers.Increase visibility and search ability: Move info about how to backup from introduction paragraph to a unique section? Add backup keywords to summary?Reduce content: Eliminate introduction paragraph if previous two items are implemented? Reduce and simplify content, length of procedure: Central Admin export procedure is 12 steps. The length discourages some customers? Reduce length or simplify process? Is there another way to accomplish task, perhaps some kind of visual drag and drop operation? For related customer comment, see 2014-01-09 comment later in Customer comments.Simplify content, permissions: In Windows PowerShell export procedure, customers have to join security groups before they export with Windows PowerShell. Is this an obstacle for customers? Is there a way to design product where at initial set up, customer can automatically set up membership for specific workers?Increase empathy: Add new section like Need more help and include link to a resource like "Office 365 Community" (http://community.office365.com/en-us/default.aspx) or another helpful source? To promote consistent use throughout team, you might check with your writing team to set up token with reusable content?Confirm: Does and should this article include link to information about how to move content to production? See 2014-09-03 comment later in Customer comments.

Do customers seek Central Administration export help?Long-tail information appearing later in Analysis indicates that customers do not seek help with this kind of export? Long-tail data includes multiple instances of PowerShell and zero instances of Central Administration. Remove Central Administration content from article? If the lengthy procedure is removed, do we increase customer satisfaction through removal and enhance search results by adding PowerShell to title?

Keyword changesMore details about the next suggestions appear earlier in Reorganization. Revise summary to omit Learn about and use, arguably, a more prominent keyword like export? Expand summary paragraph to include PowerShell export and Central Admin export procedure keywords? Move info about how to backup from introduction paragraph to a unique section? Add backup keywords to summary? Add new section like Need more help and include link to a resource like "Office 365 Community" (http://community.office365.com/en-us/default.aspx) or another helpful source? Add output file format keyword like pdf to summary? In Keyword research later in this brief, see how customers search by using pdf keyword.Competing topicsIn search results, relevant Microsoft topics appear before Export sites, lists, or document libraries in SharePoint 2013. In three of the four top keywords listed in Keyword research, the Export* topic is the second or third search result entry.

Promotion58 percent of page views for this article originate from five internal TechNet referrers, as shown later in Referring topics. Confirm that these five assets are optimized to refer as many customers as possible? Use other assets like forums, blogs, or wikis, for promotion too?Focus groupTo gain more perspective on voice, intent, and SEO for all public-facing content, set up a test environment where participants assess content. Solicit help from inside Microsoft community where participants are not directly involved with documentation. Outside Microsoft, each participant qualifies as an ITPro. Set up VPN environment for software, where participant can use remote connection. UDW dataSince Q3-FY13, total rating count for this asset is 20. The rating count is less than 30 and is not significant. Analyze rating count again in 3-6 months? The average rate for the same time period is 45. An average rate of >=33 equates to a rate that is better than 84 percent of all assets, correct?Discoverability is not a glaring issue? Page view are fairly consistent, with 99,435 total page views from Q3-FY13 through Q1-FY15. As reported in TechNetIntent workbook, customers use the keywords that appear in assets title. Explain parameters for command line with examples.152014-08-29

How would then move items or pages from development or staging environment to production? This only covers till granular back site or list.152014-09-03

Seriously? You can't do it any other way? Not with SharePoint designer? That's lame.152014-01-09

It would be nice though to have the import PowerShell command, syntax, and example here as well.952013-05-10

I have administrator rights, at least I think so, because I can log myself as an administrator into Central Administration. Yet, I receive an error message stating that I don't have sufficient permissions to export to a shared folder on my own machine. Second issue is the format of the export, I'm about to export a list of files. Is the cmp file a compressed file that I can uncompress to access the individual files or what it is?152013-05-21

Steps or links for recovery of the same maybe provided952013-03-03

Using the "official" syntax I have found is not helpful -- provide an actual, hypothetical example. To exaggerate:

instead of: exportSP [OS cmd#@] ; -- {{test path}}....

how about: exportSP jamith http:\\www.acme.com ....152013-08-22

yes, this aritcle is very helpful to me!952013-05-24
