IPS Connect will include a two day professional development course, immersing delegates in an accelerated project modelling environment. Delegates will be teamed to navigate a real life IPS project tools, facilitated by industry mentors, concept guidance and live toolkits.
Expert industry facilitators will direct teams through a series of interactive exercises, addressing technology selection, sizing, control and coordination.
Delegate teams will present their recommendations based on modelling of current project cases studies.

9:30 - 10:30 Thunderbolt Mini Hydro Scheme
The 890 kW mini hydro scheme has an annual generation 0f 4.6GWh, using a head of just over 93.3m. Named after a nearby mountain, the Thunderbolt incorporates a suite of innovations to maximise its efficiency, viability, maintainability and ease of operation in a damless situation. The scheme was commissioned in April 2019.
11:00 - 12:00 Repulse Power Station Tour
Repulse Power Station is the eighth station in the Nive/Derwent scheme. The station was commissioned in 1967 and houses a single Boving kaplan turbine coupled to a Siemens generator.
The facilities at Repulse include a concrete arch dam, intake structure, a short penstock,
power station building, and associated facilities
