The tuition payment of $870 is due to the Division of Continuing and Global Education by February 17, 2017. It is important to understand that you are undertaking a serious contractual obligation when you register for your travel study program. Starting on February 17, 2017, you are responsible for all your tuition fees of $870, which will be posted to your account even if you withdraw from the program.

Make tuition check payable to “Fresno State” and register at CGE office, Kremen Education Building, Room 130.

international travel Grants

Travel Grants are available for qualified Fresno State students. Grants will be awarded to students based upon when they register (those who register early will receive priority for grants). Based on previous years, Dr. Whiting expects grants to be in the range of $600-$800. Grants will be applied to the final balance of registered, awarded students.

CGE TUITION refund schedule

You may withdraw from the program at any time, and will be eligible for a full refund of your CGE tuition fees ($870) if you withdraw before February 17, 2017. Beginning February 17, 2017, no refunds will be made. If you withdraw from the program on or after February 17, 2017, the university will place a hold on your student account and require you to pay the full amount of fees ($870) for the tuition. Further, you will be unable to register in future Fresno State classes until this financial obligation is paid in full.

passportsParticipants in this program must have a valid passport. Those needing a U.S. Passport can apply in the Continuing and Global Education office, located in Kremen Education Building, Room 130.

The Program

Explore Australia and New Zealand while learning about international tourism in an experiential environment.

Through on site visitations and selected texts and readings, students will experience the social, cultural, and environ-mental impacts of tourism. Students will also examine the development and meaning of ecotourism, adventure, natural, cultural and heritage tourism options particular to Australia and New Zealand. In addition to theoretical knowledge, students will be presented with experiential learning oppor-tunities in commercial recreation involving hiking, snorkeling and exploring the Great Barrier Reef, visiting Maori villages, riding a skyline gondola, visiting the WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo and cruising Sydney Harbor.

Early registration is strongly encouraged. Proof of a valid passport is required prior to the trip. Due to the physical nature of the trip, it is highly recommended that you be in excellent health. Any disability requiring special attention must be reported to the instructor.
