International Women’s Day
The theme for this year’s International Women’s Day was #EachforEqual. An
equal world is an enabled world. But, what does it mean to forge an enabled
world – especially in the workplace?
At Compass Plus, enabling women in the workplace means opening
opportunities, encouraging diversity, and championing change. Enabling women
means not just celebrating them, but highlighting their achievements and
innovations. Enabling women means freedom of choice.
These aren’t just empty platitudes we use to sound like we care – they are
mission statements. For this year’s International Women’s Day, we’ve shed a
light on the impact women make every day at Compass Plus, what women
mean to us as a company, and our initiative to promote greater inclusivity and
development of women on a global scale.

We began by taking a look at our IT4EVA project – an education software development programme
dedicated to training the next generation of female software engineers. The programme has
yielded a number of graduates who have gained professional qualifications to enable them various
avenues into the IT industry.
Speaking on the programme, IT4EVA Graduate and Software Engineer at Compass Plus, Victoria E.
Mialovskaya commented that “Women have been underrepresented for so long when it comes to
careers in technology … It’s time that women had the opportunity to shine as experts in tech and to
eliminate the imbalance we see so often.”
“Encouraging diversity is a top priority for us,” said Vyacheslav Arkadiev, Head of Applications
Software Directorate at Compass Plus. “IT4EVA allows us to translate our extensive software
development expertise into becoming an important access point to take women into top jobs in
IT. We look forward to seeing how this cultural transformation evolves, as more and more women
become highly skilled computer programmers.”

We followed by asking a number of our staff what International Women’s Day means to them, and looking
further at how we enable women at all levels of our company.
This International Women’s Day has been all about equality; opening opportunities, encouraging diversity,
and championing change.
We endeavor to do even more moving into the future
