Its WhatApparently, Americans are feeling the love.

In the midst of one of the worst economic

downturns in U.S. history, volunteerism is on

the upswing. Americans spent 100 million more

hours helping their communities in 2009, a new

federal report says, and the number of people

getting involved went up by 1.6 million to

    63.4 million.

Its the biggest increase in volunteers in a single

year since 2003, according to a report released

in June by the Corporation for National andCommunity Service. The government-run

    agency oversees national service programs

including AmeriCorps. Here are some of

    its findings.

Women largely contributed to the jump in

volunteers. In 2009, 36.7 million women

volunteered, up 1.2 million from 2008. More

African Americans also gave their time.

Americans overall set aside 8.1 billion hours

to lend a hand, with the typical volunteer

donating about 52 hours for the year.

Raising money or selling items was the top

volunteer activity, followed by collecting and

distributing food. Others spent time providing

transportation or labor, and tutoring or teaching.

    People primarily served through religious

organizations or social and community groups.

Though the number of volunteer hours

increased, charitable donations fell as some

people chose to give their time rather

    than money.

A recent report from the Giving USA

Foundation and the Center on Philanthropy

found that total charitable contributions fell

3.6 percent last year to $303.75 billionthe

first decline in giving since 1987 and only the

second since Giving USA began publishing

    annual reports in 1956.

The Corporation for National and Community

    Service prepared the report, called

Volunteering in America, in partnership with

the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the

    Census Bureau.

Advertising DollarsNot Going Anywhere?STOP and Make aMoving Impres s ion! These days, there are so many

    marketing mediums and options that

many refer to as information over-

load. So when its time to start

    thinking about where your advertising

dollars are going and if theyre really

working make a move with an

    Impressions Printing vehicle wrap.

Vehicle wraps are a large vinyl

    graphic or decal

    that is applied

    directly over a

    vehicle. Whether

its a car, truck, bus or even a

boatvehicle wraps allow you to turn your vehicle into a marketing tool,

with the convenience of removing the wrap and returning the vehicle back

to its original condition at any time.

Why would anyone think about wrapping a vehicle?

VALUE According to The Traffic Audit Bureaufor Media Measurement, vehicle wrap advertising

can generate 30,000 to 70,000 daily impressions,

unlike static print and billboards that are often seen

by the same day to day traffic and billed monthly.

    Plus, you own it!

No more renting space. Wherever you go, your great

advertising goes. Its like a business card on wheels.

SentimentsThe real art of conversation is not

only to say the right thing at the

right place but to leave unsaid the

wrong thing at the temptingmoment. Dorothy Nevill

Tired of traveling? Pack your bag and stay put.

Heading out to a restaurant every day for lunch can

be hard on both your wallet and your waistline.

Most people typically consume more calories for

lunch when they eat out, and money-wise, theres

    no comparison.

To give both your budget and your calorie count a

break, here are some ways to make brown baggin it

    easier and more appealing.

When you make dinner, prepare a little extra so

you can bring leftovers for lunch the next day.

If you eat out, save back half your dinner for

    tomorrows lunch.

Brown BagIt When you shop for groceries, make sure your list

includes items that are easy to include in a lunch

sandwich meats, fruit, crackers, dried fruits, nuts and

various types of cheese are good, basic options.

When you purchase containers for your lunch, includelittle ones for condiments. That way you can add extras

like mustard, dressings and mayo right before you eat

instead of risking a soggy lunch.

You might want to treat yourself once in a while. If you

pack your lunch every day, youll likely get tired of it,

even if you mix it up with a variety of foods. Wednesday is

the optimal day to eat out, giving you a lunchbox break

right in the middle of the week.

Average ONE-TIME full vehicle wrap cost(lasting up to five years) - $2,900

    vs.

Average billboard cost for five years - $72,000

(based on annual cost of $14,400)

IMPACT A recent poll shows that 90% of travelers notice

graphics on wrapped vehicles, with 75% of consumers

forming an impression about a company based on the

professionalism and brand positioning vehicle wraps provide.

SERVICE - Dont worry if you just cant imagine it...weve

got a specialized team that can! Our staff will handle

the complete project from measuring your

vehicle, to designing the wrap, to dropping it off

    when its complete.

And did we mention our great turnaround time?

Many vehicles can be dropped off on a Friday and

    picked up on Monday.

You Can Do That?Customer Spotlight Amatuer Softball Association / USA

Ask Julie Bartel, Marketing and Communica-

tions Director for ASA/USA Softball, why she

    chooses Impressions Printingand she just

might tell you in familiar termsBecause they

always hit it out of the park.

    The ASA, Amateur Softball Association,

founded in 1933, is the National Governing

Body of softball in the United States and

a member of the United States OlympicCommittee. The ASA has become one

of the nations largest sports organiza-

tions and now sanctions competition in

every state through a network of 76

local associations. Julie and her team

over-see the day to day operations

    of the marketing department at

the ASA Hall of Fame Stadium,

    located in Oklahoma Citys his-

    toric Adventure District.

    A customer since 2003, Julie

    began using Impressions for

    traditional print projects like busi-

    ness cards, letterhead and game

programs, but soon realized shewasnt working with a traditional

    printer. More like a teammate

waiting to get in the game.

No matter how big or small

    the job, the customer service

    experience at

    Impressions is

    always great,

    said Bartel.

    And working with Mike and

Linda, I always get the feeling

    that theyre not just interested

    in the business, they want

to be a part of our team. We

    always look forward to seeing

    their delivery guys. Thatspretty impressive!

    This past summer, ASA

    approached Impressions to

    assist with a collection of

panels to be housed inside the

    stadium.

Upon completion, Julie once again thinks about

the question so many Impressions customers

    ask, You Can Do That?

One of my favorite things about working with

Impressions, is their ability to adjust with my

print and creative needs as I grow, and not just

with printing. During tournament play, I usually

need quicker than average turn around for game

day materials and they always make it happen.

The resulting 19-second clip, titled Me

Now Thats Impressive..!Impressions Printing Captures National Honor

Impressions Printing announced their third consecu-

tive year of being named to Quick Printings 2010 Top

100 List, honoring a total of 188 printing locations,

employing 3,702 people and represent $512,447,521 in

sales nationally. Quick Printing is a monthly magazine

for quick printers, small commercial printers, in-plant

printers, copy shop owners and managers. It is the

oldest and largest monthly magazine for this industry.

    Editorials focus on improv-

    ing efficiency and increasing

sales and profits in the print-

    ing industry.Impressions, established

portfolio of products includes a variety

    of specialized and technologically-ad-

    vanced services and products, includ-

    digital large format printing, digital

color and black & white printing,

    advanced e-commerce capabilities,

    creative design, complete bindery

    service and business to businessconsulting.

The award comes right on the heels

of Impressions being named one of

Oklahomas Best Places to Work (BPTW)

by OKCBiz this past June. The annual award

identifies and honors Oklahoma employers striving for

workplace excellence, both internally and externally.

We like the idea of knowing that our offering of great

products balanced with great service is still something

of value within our industry, said Jeff Summerford,

Impressions CEO. But this award is just as much

    for our customers too.

    Because our goal is to

    make sure that every cus-

tomer knows that whenthey choose Impressions

    Printing, theyre choos-

    ing a winning team

    every time.

As Southern Nazarene University alumni, CEO Jeff Summerford, Presi-

dent John Braaten and Vice President Jason McWilliams realized they

had the opportunity to give back to their Alma Mater in a way that just so

happened to be right up their creative alley.

Founded in 1899, Southern Nazarene Uni-

versity is a private, Christian, liberal arts

university; a service of the Church of theNazarene, located on a 40-acre campus just

    west of Oklahoma City.

The school was in the process of enhancing

their overall brand identity across campus

among students, faculty and the local com-

munity. So what better time to involve a few

people who know a little something about

    SNU?

Since were all SNU alumni, it was unique

and very rewarding to come back and assist

with such a phenomenal project, said Mc-

Williams. When you live at and attend SNU,

you sometimes forget that not everyone is

    fortunate to know about

    the university. So I think

our years of not beingon campus gave us a

    fresh prospective of their

    brand identity needs.

    The project consisted of

    three main components:

    Creating and install-

    ing 80 pole banners

    throughout the campus,

    designing a 25 x 7 wall

    mural installed in the

    student lounge and

    hanging a 8 x 12

    graphic comprised of

    three sheets of plexi-

    glass that were printed

    and suspended in the

    center of a 40 highatrium.

    The team

    also faced the

    challenge of

    designing,

    printing and

    installing the

    entire project

    before students

    and faculty

    returned for

    the fall, which

    ended up being

    a matter of just

    four weeks.
