New Palliative Care Physician Entrée en fonction d’une médecin en soins palliatifs
Dr. Candice Walton Palliative Care Start Date: July 2014 Address: 41 Ramsey Lake Road Sudbury, ON P3E 5J1 Dr. Candice Walton completed her undergraduate studies and a family medicine residency at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM). She subsequently completed a PGY-3 fellowship in Enhanced Skills in Oncology and Palliative Care in Toronto and Ottawa 2013-2014, before returning home to Sudbury to start her practice. She is also completing her Masters in Palliative Care from Cardiff University and was a recent recipient of a scholarship from the Canadian Association for General Practitioners in Oncology. She is also a board member with the Northern Ontario Families of Children with Cancer and has a keen interest in Bioethics, Pediatric Oncology Late Effects as well as superior quality Palliative Care to children and adults. Dr. Walton joined HSN’s Palliative Care Team in July 2014 and looks forward to being involved in the After Care and Long Term Follow Up Clinic for Pediatric Oncology patients.
Dre Candice Walton Soins palliatifs Entrée en fonction : juillet 2014 Adresse : 41, chemin Ramsey Lake Sudbury (Ontario) P3E 5J1 La Dre Candice Walton a fait ses études de premier cycle et sa résidence en médecine familiale à l’École de médecine du Nord de l’Ontario. Elle a ensuite fait un stage de PGY-3 sur les compétences avancées en oncologie et soins palliatifs, à Toronto et à Ottawa, en 2013-2014. Depuis son entrée en pratique elle complète une maîtrise en soins palliatifs à l’Université de Cardiff. Elle est boursière récente de l’Association canadienne des médecins omnipraticiens en oncologie, siège au Conseil de l’organisme Les familles du nord de l’Ontario ayant un enfant atteint d’un cancer et s’intéresse vivement à la bioéthique, aux effets tardifs en oncologie pédiatrique ainsi qu’aux soins palliatifs de qualité supérieure pour les enfants et les adultes. La Dre Walton s’est jointe à l’équipe des soins palliatifs d’HSN en juillet 2014. Elle a h âte de participer aux activités de la clinique de postcure et de suivi à long terme pour les patients en oncologie pédiatrique.

he completed his residency training in
anatomic pathology at the University of
Toronto (1987), and subsequently
attained American Board specialist
certification in Forensic Pathology
(1992). He has held senior pathologist
positions at several Toronto teaching
hospitals and at the Office of the Chief
Coroner.
Dr. Chiasson is pleased to be joining the Department of Laboratory Medicine, where his primary responsibilities will be assisting Dr. Martin Queen in the North Eastern Regional Forensic Pathology Unit.

Originaire du Cap-Breton (Nouvelle-
Écosse), le Dr David Chiasson a
obtenu son doctorat en médecine de
l’Université Dalhousie en 1979. Après
plusieurs années de pratique en tant
que médecin généraliste, il a terminé
sa résidence en anatomopathologie à
l’Université de Toronto en 1987, puis
en 1992, il a obtenu la désignation de
l’American Board of Medical
Specialties en médecine légale. Il a
été pathologiste principal à plusieurs
hôpitaux d’enseignement de Toronto
et au Bureau du coroner en chef.
Le Dr Chiasson est heureux de se joindre au Service de médecine de laboratoire où il assistera principalement le Dr Martin Queen au sein de l’Unité régionale de médecine légale du Nord-Est.
