INTRODUCTION OF COAXIAL CABLE - TAKITEK LOW LOSS CABLE

This low loss cable was developed by Takitek Company in Japan. It

was developed for the 5.8G WLAN applications due to the high loss of

the RG316 and RG178 cable during high frequency. It has 2 ground

insulation layers: the inner layer is aluminum mylar; the outer layer is a

copper braid, the jacket is a high density material which is thicker than

RG cables, so it has better shielding.

Comparision With RG Cable : ● testing cable length : 78 cm

● testing frequency : 3 GHz

The test result is 1.4dB/m, which is very close to the spec – 1.28dB/m.

It’s less than RG316’s loss – 1.902dB/m

INTRODUCTION OF COAXIAL CABLE - SEMI-RIGID CABLE

The Semi-Rigid cable is another low loss coax cable; it’s usually used for antenna and internal circuit for it’s better performance. The semi-rigid cable’s outer grounding is a solid copper tube or an aluminum tube, not the usual used braid. It does not have the flexibility of the usual of the RG Cable, but it can be formed into a specific shape or angle.

The loss of signal varies, depending on the thickness of the cable. The thicker the cable is, the lower the loss will be. It’s usually used for outdoor connection.
