It enables Advantech AMT modems to be connected directly to local area networks without the need for expensive stand-alone routers. The heart of the IP Gateway is the extremely flexible Communication Processor, which provides a wide range of routing and traffic control services between the interfaces. The provision of servers and clients like: DHCP; DNS; FTP/TFTP: NAT/PAT and AAA give the unit the ease and flexibility of connecting into a network with the minimal of configuration, security from un-authorised users making changes but also giving the option for full manual configuration and control when required. Quality of Service (QoS) features ensure that control and priority is available on the IP and Frame Relay (FR) traffic employing techniques like FIFOQ, Priority Queuing and Hierarchical Fair Service Curve. The FR function has a Local Management Interface complying with ITU-T Q.933/Annex A and ANSI T1.617 /Annex D; Multi-protocol Encapsulation (RFC 1490: IP over FR), Frame Relay Switching and Frame Relay Fragmentation: FRF12 (UNI, End to End). To assist in integration into networks the provision of built in diagnostic tools, including Ping, traceroute, discovery protocol, protocol statistic and interface statistics, gives the user methods of resolving connection issues at the point of use. This Interface card can be fitted to the SL2048, QD2048, AMT 1X, AMT3X and the AMT 7X. If fitted to the multiple demodulator configurations it provides a single data connection.

FXS and FXO Analog Telephony Interfaces The IP Gateway for Advantech’s AMT series of modems is a powerful interface card, which replaces our standard EIA-530 serial date interfaces with a 10/100BaseT Ethernet port and (optional) FXS/FXO analog telephony interfaces.
