ISSUE #08 JUL 2016 We are sure that you have heard of the Concert Series in the Park’ organised by NParks and could have aended one. Did you noce that majority of the spectators around you bagged their trash and cleared up aſter themselves at the end of the concert? A pat on the back to those who bin your trash and reminded others to keep the parks clean! We thank NParks for their excellent efforts and hope that such role model example would encourage more event organisers to implement lier-free measures at public events and remind parcipants to bin their trash. Watch this video on some of the school’s efforts! BRICKWORKS ESTATE IKEA Alexandra and Thong Keng Seniors Acvity Centre with the sup- port of NEA, kick started their first joint lier-picking exercise with about 40 parcipants at Brickworks Estate. Dressed in blue and armed with lier picking tools and trash bags, the enthusiasc volunteers dispersed across six blocks within the estate to carry out the lier- picking acvity. ABC BRICKWORKS MARKET AND FOOD CENTRE The revamped ABC Brickworks Market and Food Centre aims to en- hance the dining experience of the patrons with a clean and hygiene environment. New features such as colourful and creave mural walls, mobile standees and screening of video clips were introduced in the centre to remind diners to be considerate for other users by not liering and return their trays aſter meals. To inculcate a greater ownership of the centre, the ABC Taskforce engages residents and student ambassadors in monthly lier-picking acvies and advise diners to return their trays.
