We are sure that you have heard of the ‘Concert Series in the Park’ organised by NParks and could have attended one. Did you notice that majority of the spectators around you bagged their trash and cleared up after themselves at the end of the concert? A pat on the back to those who bin your trash and reminded others to keep the parks clean! We thank NParks for their excellent efforts and hope that such role model example would encourage more event organisers to implement litter-free measures at public events and remind participants to bin their trash.
IN THE SPOTLIGHT
More than 11,000 participants cleaned up over 190 locations and collected 7,200 kg of litter. Thank you for your support towards a truly clean Singapore!

‘BRIGHT SPOTS’ AROUND SINGAPORE
ITE COLLEGE EAST ITE College East has put in place various initiatives to foster ownership of campus cleanliness amongst the students, such as mass classroom cleaning exercises, kNOw Cleaners Day, Litter-free Ambassador pa-trols, Tray Return programmes, ‘Operation WE Clean Up!’, etc. Kudos to these inspiring volunteers! BRICKWORKS ESTATE IKEA Alexandra and Thong Keng Seniors Activity Centre with the sup-port of NEA, kick started their first joint litter-picking exercise with about 40 participants at Brickworks Estate. Dressed in blue and armed with litter picking tools and trash bags, the enthusiastic volunteers dispersed across six blocks within the estate to carry out the litter-picking activity.
ABC BRICKWORKS MARKET AND FOOD CENTRE The revamped ABC Brickworks Market and Food Centre aims to en-hance the dining experience of the patrons with a clean and hygiene environment. New features such as colourful and creative mural walls, mobile standees and screening of video clips were introduced in the centre to remind diners to be considerate for other users by not littering and return their trays after meals. To inculcate a greater ownership of the centre, the ABC Taskforce engages residents and student ambassadors in monthly litter-picking activities and advise diners to return their trays.
With a turnout of around 15,000 people at the concert, Bishan-Ang Mo Kio park remained spotless.
