LATEST NEWS… 24th May Thank you to everyone who has kept their cars away
from the front entrance at hometime. HOWEVER,
yesterday we once again had a very close call at
4.15pm, after clubs. Children must leave the school
with care and consideration to traffic.
Cars MUST NOT park outside school in an
inconsiderate way at any time of the day.
Reminders:
Please hand in all outstanding Sponsored Walk money
by today.
Current Y4/5 Residential at Kilve Court - deposits
must be in by Monday 3rd June. If we do not receive
sufficient deposits this trip will be cancelled.
Questionnaires have been handed out for all parents to
respond to and return. Please complete these as soon as
possible.
I had the privilege to spend the day with these children on Monday
at Bath University. It was the annual Quad Kids event where they
run on the athletics track in the 75m sprint, 600m and relay
races. The final two events are the standing long jump and howler
throw. Despite not finishing in the top 3 small schools, the squad
were 4th… and 9th overall. There were 23 school competing so a
really excellent result. Their effort was unquestionable and team
work once again was demonstrated in abundance. Well done Team
Quad Kids, we are very proud of you.
Yesterday, Mrs A took 11 children to the Café as a reward for their volunteering and leadership work
completed up to term 4. This has been a new log book initiative that children in Forester’s class are
responsible for. All the adults in school hugely appreciate the additional roles so many of our older
children take on, from leading clubs to sweeping playgrounds. When I asked for these log books to be
handed in, it was these children who had been logging their minutes. Well done to all these children
for their commitment, organisation and generosity. I am sure there will be more children logging their
minutes and further rewards being given out. Please do go and support the fantastic café at
Shearwater – they refused to accept any money for squash and cake and then gave the children an
icecream on their way out too… AMAZING generosity.
All security gates are now in place. Access to school is through the new front reception area. Please be patient as we
iron out changes in routines particularly at the end of clubs etc.
Please remember to keep the 29th June free – we have our Celebration Festival and Grand Opening.
Just a word of warning that we have had many children off school with a sickness bug. Fingers crossed that we are
at the end of it and that everyone has a bug free half term. Back to school for Monday 3rd June.
Lots and lots planned for Term 6 – please keep check the newsletter dates for new events… it’s going to get busy!

Dear Parents,
Plans are underway for our school Science Week. It has been rescheduled for the week beginning Monday 24th June
to Friday 28th June 2019. Last year we had some wonderful visits from parents sharing how Science is part of
their occupation. This really inspired the children. This year we would like to do the same.
If you have an occupation or hobby which involves Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths and would be available
to come in please get in touch.
Kindest regards,
Miss Porch (Science Coordinator)
