Youth Workshop - Hamilton We are happy to report that we recently managed to have a workshop and a leaders’ networking meeting in Hamilton.

Love Cover Protect (LCP) LCP is our social marketing strategy used to engage and connect with our community. We provide sexual health information in a culturally appropriate manner.

Women’s Day Celebration On the 17 May 2014 all roads led to Christchurch (ChCh) where LCP organised a community event to celebrate Mother’s Day. Among the invited guests were the ChCh Central MP & Minister, Nicky Wagner, Jane Bruning (Positive Women National Coordinator) and key community leaders.

This was a great celebration (8th March 2014) of women, their achievements and an opportunity to hear African women in NZ share their experiences and challenges they face. LCP sponsored the event in recognition of the importance of women in our communities.

Supporting SportLCP is a proud sponsor of the African Soccer in New Zealand.

Great Lakes Soccer TournamentThe Great Lakes Soccer Tournament was initiated in 2013 by members of three African communities of the Great Lakes Region (Burundi, Rwandan and DRC). The tournament is more than just a sporting/social event. It underlines friendship, fellowship and harmony among the African Diaspora communities in New Zealand. The event is also attended by diverse members of the community, thereby providing a platform for effective engagement, intergeneration and inter-cultural interaction. The highlight of this year was the participation of women’s teams

The Easter Basketball TournamentThe Easter African Basketball Tournament held in Wellington on the 19th of April 2014 was the first of its kind. Three teams participated, including a women’s team.
