Mr. Flynn, was a Great, Awesome man. He kept us all fed at the Bunker. Shawnand him would hustle through our building "Big Blue", and fill all those snackmachines for us. And would put BabyRuth bars in the machine for me. I alwaysapprecited that, and still do. He will be greatly missed. Our warmest heart feltthoughts and prayers go out to you all.

Sincerely,Carl and Lisa ReadingReading Family (Jacksonville, FL )

Jim was one of the truly outstanding characters I ever met - a huge personality;warm, friendly, generous and with a great gift to make people feel included - he wasespecially close to my mum but we all loved him dearly.

He embraced everything he did with great humour and enthusiasm - he came toWembley with us to see England play the Republic of Ireland and actually organisedthe tickets for the game. He will be greatly missed also by the 'Conways Cavaliers'cricket team and ironically the news of his death came durig this year's tour. Thelads who knew him were deeply upset.

Jimmy was the postal clerk in NMCB 62 while I was there. So everyone got toknow him. Jimmy was the self appointed social director as well. So everyone got toknow him. Talk about an opportunist. I even think the officers made an exceptionfor him at their club. I don't know if there was anyone as well liked and admired inthe battalion. He sure could ham it up :) I miss him and always will. Taken soyoung. We had a few more rounds of golf yet to play. It won't be the same withouthim. Farewell, Jimmy.Tom Stone (Westfield, MA )

I would like to echo the comments of other Conway siblings. Jim didn’t so muchembrace life as give it a gigantic group hug. He was a special guy in every way whohad a huge impact on our lives from the moment he came over to Gravesend tomarry (his first wife) and our beautiful sister Mary. This was early seventies and evenhis dapper black velvet suit can now be forgiven.

Myself and long-standing partner Cath, lived with Jim, Mary, Sean and Erin (intheir formative teenage years) for two years in Ealing London between 1985 and1987 and we had a fantastic time with the whole family as we were treated as part ofthe family. Jim introduced me to Golf, and nearly a quarter century on I’m stillrubbish but the genes must have slipped a generation as my lad Sam now has ahandicap under 10 and represents his club – so thank you, big man! He also tried,in vain to get us excited about American Football and we did all go to Wembley oneafternoon that seemed to last for eternity!

In 1987, myself, and brothers Sean and Liam went on holiday to Rota in Spain(where Mary first met Jim) and he was again the perfect host, regularly organisingbarbecues and drinks; to this day I can’t do barbecues without thinking of Jim andthe way he used to pour his Michelob (or other rubbish US beer) over the burgers todampen down the flames! He did a similar trick when he took me to my first everSauna and when I complained that it was too hot he obligingly poured water ontothe hot coals, and I can remember his wicked, tongue-in-cheek grin to this day.

Jim was literally the life and soul of the party and he will be forever remembered aspart of our family. Jim – the Eagle has not only landed but has now ascended aswell. Rest in peace Bro! Love, Des, Cath, Katie + Sam, Nottingham England xx.

Jim (or "Froggie" as we will always remember you), you were always the life of theparty. I know your passing will be a great loss to your family and friends. Two "old"friends sat around last night, raised a glass to you, and reminisced about the carefreedays we spent together in Rota, Spain, as well as our visit with you and your familyin Pensacola, Florida, for the VQ reunion (the fifth?) Fond and loving memories,always... Babs & Joe Gude, Long Island, New York
