Thanks for visiting Spanglish Schoolhouse! This is a great activity to extend your zoo unit using the book Good Night, Gorilla by Peggy Rathmann or the Spanish version Buenas Noches, Gorila. The book features a mischievous little gorilla that snatches the zookeeper’s keys. Of course, as the zookeeper is saying good night, the gorilla is letting all of the animals out of their cages and into the zookeeper’s house! To use the Story Retelling Wheel:

1. Color both wheels, then cut them out. 2. Cut out the triangle on the top wheel as well. 3. Place the wheel that says “Good Night” on top of the wheel with

the animals, and attach them with a brad. 4. The children may turn the wheel to retell the story.

¡Gracias por visitar! Esta es una grandiosa actividad para extender la unidad de zoológico utilizando el libro de Buenas Noches Gorila por Peggy Rathmann o la versión en inglés Good Night Gorilla. El libro personifica a un travieso gorilita que le quita las llaves al cuidador del zoológico. Y por supuesto, a medida que el cuidador le da las buenas noches a todos los animales, ¡el gorilita le abre la jaula a cada uno, dejándolos salir, para luego seguir al cuidador hasta su casa! Como armar la rueda para contar la historia:

1. Colorea ambas ruedas y después córtalas. 2. Corta el triángulo de la primera rueda. 3. Pon la primera rueda que dice “Buenas Noches” encima de

la rueda con los animales y únelas con una tachuela de encuadernación.

4. Los niños podrán girar la rueda para contar la historia. Utilizamos este libro para aprender acerca de las diferentes formas de dar la bienvenida también en inglés.
