It’s time to rethink, refresh & renewis here

The Power of

YouThere is real power in the relationships you have with your clients. They look to you for your expertise. Your clients actually want you to recommend products and services, but most of us don’t want to be viewed as a “salesman”. It doesn’t have to be uncomfortable for you. Below are a few simple suggestions to help you ease into conversations that actually benefit you financially...

Ask, “May I recommend a product for you?” during a service. This can be very effective because:

1 It’s non-threatening—You are asking permission. 2 It gives you an opportunity to explain how the client will benefit from using the product. 3 It isn’t a “sales pitch”, it’s a recommendation.

Say, “I’ll let you know what products I’m using so you can re-create the style, but if I forget please ask me,” during the consultation and then talk about them. Go a step further and tell them WHY you are using those products.

Recommend services at the beginning of the appointment. Some clients are unaware of services you offer and may be hesitant to ask.

Ask, “Are you having any challenges with your hair?” This invites a conversation in which you have the power to provide the solutions. Solutions = Cash

The Power of

On-Purpose Social Marketing Be careful of frequently posting, “Openings available this afternoon”. Instead show a look and encourage clients to call today to snag one of the select few appointments tomorrow.

Also limit postings like, “Save 20% on all services tomorrow”. If you do them frequently, clients may wait for an offer before booking a service. If you focus your posts on price and savings that is what you’ll become known for.

As your clients read your posts they will subconsciously be thinking WIIFM (What’s in it for me). Be sure to address WIIFM in every post.

Use your clients’ phone to snap pics of the style you created for them to post on Facebook/Pinterest for their friends to see. (Be sure they post your name & salon). The ultimate word-of-mouth advertising.

Show pics of celeb or runway looks that you like (and want to do). Share why you picked the look. Invest some time with this. Ideas...

1 Top 10 list of celebrity runway looks of 2012. Post one a day and share what you like about it. 2 Choose the right style for the client’s face shape (show pics!)

Themes…a great way to talk about your services and the products you use. With a theme you can do posts about the topic. Here are a few suggestions…
