Baptism of the Lord
Before Jesus began preaching, teaching and healing throughout Galilee and Judea, He came to John to be baptized. The Spirit of God descended upon Him and God’s voice called out, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” As Christians, baptized with the Holy Spirit, we are empowered to carry on Jesus’ mission. Let us consider how God calls us to put our faith into action. May God be well pleased.

St. Mary Parish Baptism of the Lord January 12, 2020
Welcome to the St. Mary Parish Family
Anthony John DeBarros!
How well do you know Jesus?
Do you want to get to know Him
better? Have you ever really
encountered Jesus? Have you
been waiting for a long time to
do so? If any of these questions
made you shake your head yes,
then this is the bible study for
YOU!!
Our Turning Point Bible Study will introduce you to
people and stories in the Gospel of John that you won’t
find anywhere else in the Bible: The woman at the well;
a man named Nicodemus; the woman caught in
adultery; and Lazarus, the friend Jesus raised from the
dead. You’ll read stories about Jesus turning water into
wine at the wedding in Cana, Jesus washing the feet of
his disciples, and Peter’s marvelous redemption after he
denies Jesus three times. The people in these stories
were transformed by their encounters with Jesus. By
entering into their miraculous stories, you and everyone
in your group will encounter Jesus in a personal way
and develop a deeper relationship with him that will
transform your everyday life.
Created exclusively for The Turning Point, the edition
of the Gospel of John, we will be using, reads like an
engaging novel, making it easy for you to encounter
Jesus through John the apostle’s unique perspective as
one of Jesus’ closest friends.
Please call LeiLanie D’Agostino at 781/729-0055 x308
or email [email protected] to
register for this Bible Study on or before Monday,
January 20, so that materials can be ordered to arrive
on time. Bible Study will take place on SUNDAY,
JANUARY 26 from 2:00-3:30pm in the Parish Center.

CCD Classes—Week of January 12
During the holidays we travel to do many things… shop,
visit friends and relatives, take in entertainment and
more. Our motivations may vary, but the benefits
generally outweigh the negatives. Here in the Religious
Education Office, we appreciate all you do to bring your
family for instruction. It is our delight to partner with
you and your family on your faith journey.
As we heard last week about the Magi traveling to see
the Newborn King, let us remember to focus on God
incarnate, Jesus Christ. Perhaps during our daily travels
we can pray for the love of God, the strength of Jesus
and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Happy New Year!
