Jedox for Excel
New insight, same environment
Microsoft Excel
Behind a seamlessly integrated MS Excel user interface lies the
heart of the Jedox system – its high-performance in-memory
Jedox OLAP Server, which makes working with large volumes of
data is made significantly easier and faster. While the creation of
complex corporate planning documents with “plain” Microsoft
Excel requires the use of dozens of spreadsheets, Jedox can
organize data centrally in its integrated OLAP server and represent
it in multiple dimensions. Overcoming the two-dimensional
limitations of an Excel spreadsheet, it gives users a comprehensive
overview of their business data at one glance. The user-friendly
Excel Add-in allows users to perform all their daily activities in a
familiar Excel environment while tapping into the performance
advantages of the OLAP server. Users can get started with the
implementation, use, and upgrading of BI & PM applications in no
time at all. Existing Excel spreadsheets can be enhanced with a
server-based OLAP data environment with just a few clicks.
SUCCESS visualizations including waterfall
charts
For the creation of efficient and visually appealing
reports, Jedox users have the SUCCESS chart
functionality of the Excel Add-In at their disposal,
allowing them to generate state of the art data
visualizations according to HICHERT®SUCCESS rules,
while at the same time enjoying Excel’s full design
flexibility. Yet another helpful feature is the Jedox Office
Add-In, allowing users to integrate Excel charts and
tables directly into Word or PowerPoint with just a few
clicks. With this quick and precise transfer feature,
manual screenshots are a thing of the past. In addition,
the imported information is linked to the OLAP server,
and can be updated at any time at the press of a button.

One interface for all components
Jedox Web contains all the tools and modules companies need to create full-fledged planning, and reporting applications.
Every component is 100% Web-based. No installation on the PC required. Jedox Web is, therefore, an ideal solution for
organizations that want their business entirely transferred to the Cloud.
Report Manager
Easily publish any information administered in Jedox File Manager. Create any hierarchical report indices. Using
different variables, dynamically assign report indices to user groups or define them according to their
respective data.
Task Manager
Controls all scheduled tasks, such as sending report files or launching ETL projects. Use Jedox Task Manager to
control all task settings and to administer functions.
File Manager
Enables administration of any file on a per-user basis, including Jedox Spreadsheet. Provides every application
and user with an area for depositing files. Easily integrates Jedox apps with other information, such as text
documents or PDFs.
System Manager
Provides a clear and well-designed interface for administration of user and group access and permissions to all
components and databases within Jedox. It also provides access to logs, system licensing, and active sessions,

Jedox OLAP server is a multidimensional “in-memory” OLAP server

the highly scalable Jedox analytics engine with a consistent experience across all devices that is designed to empower business
users.
Jedox OLAP server
The Jedox OLAP server provides you with a highly-scalable
analytical appliance that delivers real-time performance over
volatile enterprise data. The engine enables complex
planning and forecasting with in-memory rules modelling,
predictive analytics with powerful statistical heuristics and
instant consolidations and reporting over large multi-
dimensional datasets. All changes are logged for audit and
compliance. The event-driven engine Supervision Server
gives you unlimited control over managing any type of user
interaction.
High-availability
The self-tuning engine supports high availability and highly
efficient multi-core optimization, enabling consistent high
performance and physical, virtual and cloud environments
that scale for 1000s of users. The Jedox in-memory
algorithms compress tabular data by 25 times. The unified
model manages corporate metadata, incorporating both
master data from corporate repositories and enabling end-
user metadata to be automatically shared across and
planning scenarios.
Enterprise Security
The engine controls permission management with stringent
and secure access rights for users, groups, and roles. Data is
encrypted with MD5 by default and supports the HTTP
using SSL to encrypt communication between clients with
valid security certificates. The analytics supports SSO with
Active Directory and LDAP on Linux and Windows.

Whether on-premise or in the cloud, Jedox‘s powerful integrator enables you to efficiently connect your any data source with
Jedox so you never lose sight of your corporate data. Jedox Integrator has a rich set of out-of-the-box connectors to SAP and
Salesforce and classic connectors for standard corporate data sources such as IBM DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle.
Business users can also use Jedox for write-back to upstream systems. Jedox Integrator merges data from heterogeneous
sources in a unified view. Jedox Integrator includes built-in wizard-based transforms to facilitate rapid setup, cleansing and
integration, and supports a rich set of languages, such as the statistical language R, for maximum flexibility in complex data
environments.
Integrate a number of source systems
With built-in connectors to a broad array of data formats and
databases in the cloud or on-site, you can easily integrate any
number of source systems, including data sources such as
JDBC and ODBC, flat files, JSON and SOAP web services. You
can directly access query relational databases, such as SQL
Server, and use Jedox Integrator for write-back. Jedox
Integrator includes predefined connectors to valuable
sources such as Salesforce and specific ERPs and offers you
the choice between real-time and incremental updates.
Another important feature of the Jedox Integrator is its
automatic document integration processes and automatic
visualization of data lineages to support data audits and
master data management.
Jedox SAP Connector
Jedox’s Business Intelligence and Performance Management

their SAP data. The optional Jedox SAP connector enables
quick and simple connection of Netweaver-based SAP
systems, applying your security settings automatically,
