Why We Love Dimples. . .Besides the notion that dimples look great on cute chicks, there’s a scientific reason for appreciatingindented surfaces. Indeed it’s no accident that both a major European automaker and a power boat man-ufacturer have introduced dimpled bottoms or undercarriages on their most recent models. Of course,there’s also the tried and true modern golf ball, the pocked surface of which has been the industry stan-dard since Herbert Hoover held office.

What’s so titillating about dimples? As a recognized leader in the research and development of drift boattechnology and as an avowed enemy of “drag” (exemplified by the unparalleled performance attained byour breakthrough tunnel hull design), we asked ourselves the same question. ClackaCraft had little choicein the matter; we simply had to investigate the buzz behind dimples. Here’s what we found: the laminarflow past a smooth surface produces more pressure and resistance than the turbulent flow past a texturedor dimpled surface.

added to the histo-ry of fly fishing driftboat developmentwhen ClackaCraftintroduced the 16' LowProfile Fly Pod. Utilizingthe hull of the popular 16'Low Profile ClackaCraft, pro-fessional Madison River guideKelly Galloup developed a newinterior design that is the most userfriendly in the industry.

Interior storage in the Fly Pod is drasticallyincreased. Now there is room to carry additional 9'two-piece, rods, roll-a-tables, chairs and even barbeque grills

in the storage com-partments. These large storage areashave a non-slip surface and can be walked on.The new rear walk-through knee brace allowsfree and uninhibited movement from front torear of the boat.

New built-in rod holders will carry fourassembled fly rods, ready to grab and cast. Thenew adjustable rower's pedestal seat and thefront pedestal seat will accommodate a drop-incooler insert. The 14’ Big Sky Drifter is an excellent boat for small, narrow riverswhere quick turning is crucial. This boat is not limited to small rivers,

however—the 24” side height enables the Big Sky to take on mod-erate standing waves on bigger rivers.

The Big Sky comes with a front bench seat with onepadded fold-down seat. The front bench will accommodate

two passengers with a second seat (optional). A rower’sseat is included.

ClackaCraft trailers are manufactured to our specifications, specifically to fit our boats. They are heavy dutywith 1,200-pound torsion axles and 13-inch wheels. Bearings have E-Z lube hubs for quick maintenance.Black painted trailers are standard; galvanized trailers are an optional upgrade.

ClackaCraft OarsClackaCraft is proud of the high quality oars that are provided with every boat package we sell. The

ClackaCraft PowerStroke oar has gained fame throughout the nation as a highly dependable oar. This isa tough white water oar that will give the oarsman a powerful stroke and excellent control of the boat onany river.

As an upgrade we also offer composite shaft oars for those who prefer a more flexible feel in their oarstroke. Talk with your salesman about the right choice for you.

A spare break-down oar is a must for every drift boat. The PowerStroke break-down is a three piece oarthat easily fits in your boat.

ClackaCraft Prop GuardFor those who like to use an outboard motor on their boat,a Prop Guard will provide protection for your propellerwhen boating in shallow areas. The galvanized steel cagesurrounds the prop to keep it from hitting rocks and shear-ing a pin. This is an inexpensive way to avoid the hassle,inconvenience and the expense of motor repairs during apleasant day of fishing. The Prop Guard fits most outboardsfrom 7 HP to 15 HP.
