To receive the gift of the Holy Spirit you must open your heart and

invite Him in! Ask the Holy Spirit to guide your thoughts, words, and actions every day! Be grateful for

all the gifts God has given you! Regardless of our individual

Project Rachel Ministry Confidential Phoneline The Project Rachel Ministry confidential phoneline is now available in the Diocese. This phoneline is meant to help those who are post-abortive because they had an abortion, they were the father of a child who was aborted, or they have a family member impacted by abortion. The phone line will be answered by Julie Krejci who participated in Project Rachel training sponsored by the USCCB and has a M.A. in Counseling Psychology. The purpose of the helpline is not to provide counseling but to refer the caller to oth-ers including priests to allow for healing and reconciliation. The helpline number is 218-470-0112 and the caller’s number is not identified by the receiving number

Our volunteer that helps with the fire victims and homeless is currently looking for a washer dryer and a freezer. She is also accepting furniture. If you have anything you wish to donate,

please leave at 1231 Lincoln Ave, D. Lakes.

Parish Cemetery: Decorations placed on the graves in our Parish Cemetery in observance of Memorial Day may be left until the end of June. After that, anything that will interfere with the

maintenance of the cemetery for example, decorations placed where they will be in the way for the mowing of the grass will need to be removed. Also, please do no plant trees or flowers in the ground. A yellow collection envelope can be found in your envelope pack-age to help defray the ever increasing cost of upkeep for our

cemetery. Please consider helping us out!

FAREWELL GET TOGETHER

As you know, Holy Rosary will be losing our two faithful leaders on June 30th. Monsignor Tim will be moving on to his next phase of life– called retirement. Father Michael has been assigned the Associate Pas-tor at St. Phillips in Bemidji.

Our Parish Council is preparing a farewell for them. Because of the pandemic and the governor’s rules we are uncertain as to what we can do. We will know more as time goes on.

We are planning for Sunday, June 28. Hoping from 11:30 –1:30 pm. We do not have anything concrete yet.

With this being said, we are preparing to give them both a farewell gift. If you wish to donate to these gifts you may send it to the Parish Office at 1043 Lake Avenue, Detroit Lakes. Please watch the Parish Bulletin for updates as we know more.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

Wednesday’s 9 am to 7 pm

Held in the Church for Social Distancing

To make sure we have someone present at all times, please call

701-866-5706 to schedule a time. You may also come when it’s most

convenient for you.

Please join the many people who are praying with the Holy Father’s Monthly intention for June: The Way of the Heart: We pray that all those who suffer may find their way in life, allowing themselves to be touched by the Heart of Jesus.

Benefits of Eucharistic Adoration 1. Every Holy Hour we make so pleases the Heart of Jesus that it is

recorded in Heaven and retold for all eternity! (St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta)

2. The spiritual lives of our families are strengthened through our Holy Hour. (Blessed John Paul II)

3. A Holy Hour of prayer before the Blessed Sacrament is so important to Jesus that a multitude of souls go to Heaven who otherwise would have gone to hell. (Jesus revelation to Blessed Dina Belanger)

4. All the angels of heaven gaze in ecstasy at the image left on your soul after each holy hour you make in the presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. (“Letters to a Brother Priest”)

5. Perpetual Adoration extends its influence far beyond the individual adorers, touching their homes and families and reaching out to the parish community and beyond. (Pope Paul VI)

6. Each time you approach the Blessed Sacrament remember that Jesus has been waiting for you for twenty centuries for this personal visit from you. (St. Josemaria Escriva)

7. A Holy Hour of Eucharistic Adoration is a sharing in the work of Redemption. (Archbishop Fulton Sheen)

8. The grace of adoration of Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament is given to everybody. (St. Peter Julian Eymard)

9. Our Lord hears our prayers anywhere, but He has revealed to His servants that those who visit Him in the Eucharist will obtain a more abundant measure of grace. (St. Alphonsus Ligouri)

10. The future belongs to those who worship God in silence. (St. John Paul II)

11. It is impossible in human terms to exaggerate the importance of being in adoration before the Eucharist as often and for as long as our duties and state of life allow. (Fr. John Hardon)

12. St. Vincent de Paul would make a Holy Hour asking the Lord blessings on important business transactions and, afterwards, returned to thank the Lord. (St. Vincent de Paul)

13. During our Holy Hour our souls are fed in two faculties of the spirit - the Mind and the Will. In the Mind we need light; in the Will we need strength. (Fr. John Hardon)

HAM AND TURKEY DINNER

The last few months have been very interesting and trying. With

everyone in quarantine and our church being closed down we

thought we’d offer a little something different this year. The KC’s

are hosting a Father’s Day dinner on June 21. Think of it more

like a Mother’s Day/Father’s Day dinner. We cannot offer a

“buffet” or sit down style but will offer a curbside/parking lot pick up. Come through the

parking lot, clockwise, we will take your order, fill your order downstairs and bring it out to

your car. Below you will find an order form, fill one out for each meal you want. Order as

many meals as you want. We will fill orders to go from 10 am to 2 pm. Cost is $10 per

meal. Thank you in advance for your continued patronage to the Knights of Columbus.

Please call 218-847-2800 to pre-order your meal.

We hope to offer patio seating by the Washington Ave doors if the weather permits and

the restrictions allow us.

April 26, 2020

After a little rest and regrouping we are bringing back the Everyday Angel Ministry. It is definitely a need in this community and we are ready to be

“Angels” again to those in need.

We now are accepting donations for our 55th family. Did you vow to get organized and declutter your home this spring? Please remember the Everyday Angels project! We collect new and gently used items and distribute them to area families who are in great need of a hand up. Everyday Angels accepts any items needed by one who is starting over from loss of a home or those facing financial hardship due to illness, loss of income, etc. You can be an “Everyday Angel” and pass along the items you have outgrown or no longer need to those who need them most. Refer to the bulletin as every 2-3 weeks we feature a new family from our area. We welcome new or gently used items in good, clean condition. Everyday Angels also collects items not included on the current wish list; we will store them for future use and distribute accordingly. Continually needed items include: household goods, beds, linens, clothing (socks & underwear), outerwear, footwear, furniture, educational toys, books and games.

Bring items to Holy Rosary and place in the “Everyday Angel” box in the welcoming center. How gratifying to know that our unused and outgrown items can make a huge difference in the life of someone else! For more information, please contact Susan Deraney (218) 849-1856.

When donating items for these particular family member, please bag them separately and label accordingly – Fami-ly #55, Child #1, Child #2, etc; this will help tremendously with the sorting and ensure those persons receive your items. With this large of family we could definitely use the help of you labeling the bags or boxes that you donate. Thank you!!!! This large family lost absolutely everything in a house fire over the weekend. Three family members were hospital-ized, two in HCMC and one in Fargo. Please keep this family in your daily prayers, they will need lots of prayers at this time. The grandparents are taking care of this family until the parents get home from the hospital, so they are in need immediately of combs, brushes, shaving cream, razors, food (Gift Cards to Walmart), paper products, toilet-ries, washcloths and towels. They will need all kinds of furniture and beds, clothing, storage unit for two months and would like a PS4 with some games for the teenage boys.

Immediate Needs: PRAYERS!!!!! Combs, brushes, shaving cream, razors, food (Gift Cards to Walmart), paper products, toiletries, washcloths and towels. They will need all kinds of fur-niture and beds, clothing, would like a PS4 with some games for the teenage boys and they will need a storage unit for two months as we gather furniture for them. If anyone knows of someone that is willing to donate a space for two months please let us know.

Also, please remember to label your donations with Family #55 and what child number it goes to. It really makes our sorting a lot easier. We would like to get this out to them as soon as possible.

God Bless you for being an “Everyday Angel”!
