For younger children, care is provided in the nursery during the remainder of our worship time. A single youth volunteer may be needed. Please ask the adult nursery personnel if a youth is necessary.

COMMUNION INCLUSION

The small boxes on the serving plates with the communion bread contain brown rice crackers, which are wheat free, gluten free, soy and nut free, and are for those needing allergen free foods.

OCTOBER POTLUCK LUNCH – TODAY

Please join us for a potluck lunch in Fellowship Hall following worship today. The Fellowship Committee will provide the main dish...Chicken Pot Pie, along with iced tea, lemonade and water to drink.

LEMON TREE HOLIDAY BAZAAR

The 46th annual Lemon Tree Holiday Bazaar is just around the corner...Saturday, November 9 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Lunch will be available from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. You’ll find homemade crafts and gifts, vendors, and baked goods...as well as attic treasures, country store items, jewelry and collectibles.

Proceeds from this event benefit the residents of Westminster Village, located at 803 N. Wahneta Street in Allentown.

DAYBREAK—NOVEMBER 11

Can you bake cookies for Faith Church’s monthly outreach to Daybreak? Volunteers provide a meal once a month, but cookies are always appreciated, even looked forward to. If you can bake a dozen or two, please drop them off in the church kitchen next Sunday. (Because of potential allergies, please mark those that contain nuts.) If you would like to help our volunteers, please speak to Zona Farmer or Carolyn Baittinger.

FALL CLEAN-UP DAY

Mark your calendars for November 16! That’s the day many hands will be needed to get the many tasks done, both indoors and outdoors. Please bring leaf rakes, tarps, anything you think might be needed to clean up outdoors. Thank you in advance for your help!

CONGREGATION PHOTO

It’s time to replace the photo of our church family on the church’s website. So, mark your calendars for November 24. We will take the photo following worship, and before Advent-ure. Please participate if you are able.

FAITH PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH OF EMMAUS 3002 N. Second Street - PO Box 507 - Emmaus, PA 18049

610-967-5600—[email protected] Visit us on the web! www.faithchurchemmaus.org

ARE YOU NEW TO FAITH CHURCH? If this is your first time in worship with us here at Faith Church,

welcome! We want to get to know you, so be sure to sign the friendship registry, which can be found at one end of the pew.

STEWARDSHIP SUNDAY Stewardship Sunday is next Sunday. A letter with your pledge card will

be mailed earlier that week.

The Stewardship Committee was moved by 2 Thessalonians 1:3, which in the Message version has Paul saying “You need to know, friends, that thanking God over and over is not only a pleasure; it’s a must. We have to do it. Your faith is growing phenomenally; your love for each other is developing wonderfully. Why, it’s only right that we give thanks.

On Sunday October 20th, there was a Minute for Stewardship, focusing on “it’s only right that we give thanks.” Elders thanked the congregation for supporting the ministries of Faith Church, through their time, their talents and their treasures!

As you prayerfully consider your pledge for 2020; could you possibly increase your pledge, could you possibly volunteer your time to help one of the committees in their vision, Living and Sharing the Miracle of God’s Grace. If you have questions, please contact Chuck Waters, Stewardship chair.

ADVENT-URE IS COMING! Adventure is coming on November 24, following worship.

Help us prepare the church for Advent. Decorate the Sanctuary. Make an Advent wreath to use at home. Decorate cookies for Daybreak. Make an

ornament. Children’s workshop. Light lunch will be provided.

BUT MOST IMPORTANT IS THE FELLOWSHIP WE WILL SHARE!

For additional information, contact Sally Heimbach.

COLLEGE STUDENT GOODIE BOXES

As is the custom of the Deacons, we will be sending “Goodie Boxes” to our college students as they prepare for their first semester final exams. This activity has been a positive experience for them, as they tend to share with their roommates. It lets our young people know we are proud of them and thinking of them while they are away at school.

Note: We may not have addresses for our newest college students, or current addresses for others. Even if you think we have it, please send those addresses to the church office ASAP! Thanks!

Collection boxes are in fellowship hall. Examples of items to donate are protein, breakfast, or granola bars; packages of pretzels, crackers, cookies, nuts, gum, hot cocoa, etc. Let’s fill these boxes to the brim! Thank you for your generosity! – Elaine Smits, Liz Kenny.

“To all God’s beloved...called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 1:7 NRSV) Welcome!

We hope you’ll join us following worship for our Pot Luck Luncheon, which takes

place instead of Sunday School on the 2nd Sunday of each month.

PASTOR’S ONLINE COLUMN Pastor Becki has an online column which can be accessed at

revmallozzi.blogspot.com/. An easily clickable link is included in the online copy of the bulletin, as well as in the weekly email blast. If you would like to be added to that list, please email the church office.

PHOTOS NEEDED Do you have a smart phone? Then, you are a designated church

photographer! You are encouraged to take photos of church members/friends at our events and activities! Right after snapping pictures, you can send them right to Lynda in the church office by email to ([email protected]), where she will store them for use in publications or just store them for church history! We are always looking to document our church activity. Thank you!

PRAYER CHAIN REQUESTS Messages to be shared via the Prayer Chain may be emailed directly

to [email protected]. Messages can also be sent through a form on the Prayer Requests page of the church website. If you wish to be included in our Prayer Chain distribution list (or if you don’t think you are receiving messages), please contact the church office.

SEEKING FELLOWSHIP HOSTS Have you ever considered hosting fellowship hour, but are unsure

what’s involved? Well...now is the time! It’s very easy, only take a little time, and you will enjoy it, while making others happy too. Grab a friend and host together! There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board by the entrance to Fellowship Hall, where you can see available dates. Contact Amy Waters at 610-762-1686 [email protected] if you have any questions, or need assistance getting started!

CHRISTMAS EVE HELP NEEDED

Are you planning on attending the 5:30 pm Christmas Eve service? The Discipleship Committee is looking for volunteers to help with the service. No memorization, no lengthy practices, all ages are welcome to participate. If interested, we will be having a brief gathering during ADVENT-ure. For additional information, please contact Cathy Wiese.

PER CAPITA ENVELOPE, WHERE R U ??? If you are wondering where the blue per capita envelope is,

usually found in your offering envelope box, you can find them in the pew racks.

The per capita payment has portions sent to the Lehigh Presbytery, the Synod of the Trinity and the General Assembly to help pay for the operation expenses of those organizations.

As of 10/2/19 we have received $4,567.00 towards our total payment of $9,432.00. If you have not paid your per capita, please consider doing so. The apportionment for 2019 is $36.00 per member.

WOMEN OF FAITH WOF meet every Wednesday at 9:30 AM to

prepare for the annual Holiday Craft Fair, on December 7, as well as the Lemon Tree Bazaar at Westminster Village, on November 9. Volunteers are needed each week, especially as dates get closer! No craft skills are needed. If you can fill out a price tag, you can help!

You can also help by sharing the date of the craft fair event with your friends and family. If you use Facebook, share the craft fair posting. Pick up some cards from the table in the narthex and hand them out.

You can also volunteer to help out at the event itself...selling raffle tickets, taking payment for the food, packaging purchased baked goods, and many more things!

If you are willing to help, please see Sandy Gingrich or Sue Lawall.
