Hello families and happy Sunday!
It’s always alarming when the end of the month comes and I think it was only
yesterday that the month began! Imagine that 1/3 of the summer is over –
yikes! This means that summer activities are in full swing. Swimming, camp-
ing, vacations…we love them all! The other thing that summer brings is VBS,
or, Vacation Bible School. I realize many of us automatically associate VBS
with the protestant churches as the Catholic Church has been a bit lacking in
offering solid VBS programs. We had the wonderful, Totus Tuus program for
several years, led by Fr. Dooley and run by college students and seminarians.
Unfortunately, they are no longer offering the program in our area. This year
we are offering a new program, called Tracking Mary. Each day, the children
will learn about the mysteries and messages from our Blessed Mother. It’s a
fun program and it’s very solidly Catholic. I have mentioned it before, but
want to give it a special push this week, the last week to register. We will
close registrations at noon on Friday, July 7th. The program is July 10th – 14th,
from 9-12:30. I am going to be present after each Mass this weekend, to get
your kids signed up for this special program. See me in the elevator foyer,
across from the library shelf. And if you are available to help, we’d love to
have you!
God bless,
Melissa
