People come and people go out of your life. Some make a huge

impact and some go so quickly they are gone before you know it. We said

good bye to a guy who created our bingo hour which has been one

of our most popular groups ever! Jim E passed away on May 31,

2013. He was a great peer counselor that was well liked by all the

members. His sprit will live on!

FUN AT THE ISABELLA FREEDMAN RETREATOne of the many great traditions we have here at the Social Club and BHcare isthe annual summer retreat to the Isabella Freedman resort. Even though the

weather was a little damp at times all the folks that went seemed to have a

great time.. Here are what they thought about the week in the woods.

I had a great time at the resort. I got to meet new friends that I wouldn't have

otherwise. I went fishing and caught two fish. I got to rest and not worry abouttelephone calls and other interruptions. The food was very satisfying also. Ienjoyed my stay at Isabellas Neil R.

The vibe at this years Isabella freedman retreat was highly positive anduplifting. Even though it rained heavily for the first two days our collective

spirits were not dampened. I am very grateful to have this opportunity to re-charge my mental , emotional and spiritual batteries. Brian F.

My experience was great. Meeting new friends and one lady that I really liked

I loved playing pool and won many games. I loved it. Zach.

The trip to Isabella Freedman was a very fun time and I enjoyed it. I got to sleepthat I needed it badly. I was able to do activities that I enjoyed. I hope that I

can come back next year. Seth W.

I thought my time was very good. It would be better if did not rain as much. I

met some fantastic people that would not have met otherwise. I had a greattime. Magge E.

My experience was fantastic. The rain did not deter anything. My time was filled

with activities. I got to do everything I wanted. I would be happy to go backagain. Mike L.

I got to meet new friends. The activities were awesome. The rain was a setback

but we managed. My favorite part was canoeing. I hope to go next year.Brian W.

While personally I never feel safe anywhere I had a lovely time out on the lake

and the beds were comfortable. It was wonderful to eat the amazing meals pro-vided and I had a great time singing and dancing. In the end coming here was

certainly an experience I would repeat even considering I fell in the lake.

The trip to Isabella Freedman was a wonderful experience for me. This was thefirst time going and I hope not the last. Getting away from the day to daycomplexities of our lives was refreshing and renewing. The place was gorgeous

place to go. Because of the rain I have never got so soaked in my life and the raincaused all 160 guest to stay under one tent together. But this gave me the

opportunity to meet a diverse group of people and our heroic staff. This was awell rounded enjoyable time away.

    Julie P.

I would like to thank the staff at the Valley Social Club for allowing me the

wonderful opportunity to attend this years Isabella Freedman retreat. It camejust at the right time for me and I greatly enjoyed the pleasant experiences of the

surrounding woods and lakes, the farm, the tasty meals and entertainment. I alsoliked meeting new people and making friends. Thanks to the staff at the resort

and again to the V.S.C. for truly wonderful trip.Marilyn K.

Boy its great to be home ! The resort is always a great trip. This year was thesame despite the rain. Monday and Tuesday was a little slow we could not use the

pool or have a campfires due to the rain. Wednesday was much better. We

stayed busy all day and got a lot of exercise. The food was great , all of tit healthyand uniquely tasty. We met the female goats that staff milk and make cheese

from which was really interesting. We also saw the staff pickle vegetables for

sale. We met new people too. All in all it was a great time but Im happy to behome.

    FARMER JACQUES

Its summer time and once more our club members arefortunate to get fresh produce from Masaro Farms. Our first tripgot us lettuce, Bok Choy and my favorite kale. Our member Luissays he likes the fresh Bok Choy because it's tasty, and fresh.
