Hi everyone, In the biggest shake-up of Camelot’s National Lottery in its 21-year lifespan, it could be you (if you’re an optimist) but most likely never will be as Camelot overhauls the National Lottery.

The National Lottery has just changed the rules, expected to come into effect around October whereby there is to be a one in 45million chance of winning the jackpot instead of the one in 14million you presently have.

Ten more numbers are to be added to the pot, meaning players will now select from 59 numbers instead of the existing 49.

It was only in October 2013 the ticket cost rose a whopping 100% from £1 to £2.

Andy Duncan, the Chief Executive of Camelot, said: ‘What we’re announcing today – offering players more chances than ever to become a millionaire on Lotto and bigger rolling jackpots – is part of our programme of continuous innovation and builds on Lotto’s ongoing success.’ Surely we have all heard similar old chestnuts of ‘We are trying to improve our customer’s experience’.

Bottom line here is your chance of winning just went from 1 in 14 million to 1 in 45 million, you can’t get away from the math.
