Scripture

Jeremiah 23:1-6

Ephesians 2:13-18

Mark 6:30-34

Jesus’ death and resurrection have destroyed all of the divisions that separate us from one another.

When God established a covenant with the Jewish people, he was making a choice in their favor. This natu-rally excluded those who were not Jews. One group ob-served the law of God; the other did not even know that law. One group lived in peace with the Lord; the other did not even know his name. When Jesus died and put to death the alienation caused by our sins, he destroyed every boundary that separated one person from another. We are now one in Christ. All nations have been chosen and now participate in the peace that Jesus’ cross has established.
