SUPPORT THE CATHOLIC COMMUNICATION CAMPAIGN Fifty percent of all funds collected remains in our diocese to fund local communications projects. The other

half helps to fund national and international programs that use the media to evangelize. In the past year, CCC

funds have made possible:

TV and e-books to the faithful in five developing countries

365 days of audio podcasts and video reflections on the daily readings

Over 127 million page views on the USCCB.org website in 2015

Thousands of Catholics engaged daily through social media channels

Millions of people reached . . . and still counting!

By supporting the CCC, you help bring the gospel message to “everyone, without exception,” as Pope

Francis asks. The Catholic Communication collection will be held on June 17-18, 2017. Thank you in

advance for your generosity.

Please consider remembering St. Pius X Church in your will and estate planning.

+++SHEPHERD’S PIE UPDATE +++ Next Cooking Day: Shepherd’s Pie will not be cooking next Wednesday, June 14, 2017.

Shepherd’s Pie Seasonal Meeting this Sunday, June 11 from 9:30 am to 10:45 am: As we prepare for the upcoming summer season and the many homegrown vegetables so richly donated to this ministry, Shepherd’s Pie will hold their seasonal meeting this Sunday morning, June 11 from 9:30 am to 10:45 am. Agenda topics are reviewing our Spring work, our community connections, meal planning moving forward through the sum-mer and a general discussion.

Reflecting back on the summer of 2016, it was a busy, fruitful season. Nutritious, healthy meals were made using the homegrown produce donated by parishioners and the organic community garden. We invite you to stop in this morning to learn about Shepherd’s Pie. Everyone is invited and all ideas are welcomed. The meeting will be held downstairs . Questions: If you would like to talk with someone about this project, contact Sandy Corrigan at 570-743-3373 and [email protected]; Carol Parowski at 570-539-4283 and [email protected]; Carla Minori at 570-847-5200 and [email protected]; and Sarah and Mike Tirpak at 570-556-7734 and [email protected]; Dolores Cook at 717-444-3858 and [email protected] If you know of someone who needs a meal, please let us know.

PARISH ENTHRONEMENT WEEKEND, JUNE 24 & 25 Devotion to the Heart of Jesus has existed throughout much of the history of the Church, however in France in June of 1675, Jesus instructed Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque that He wished devotion to His Sacred Heart be made known to the wor ld. He gave her Twelve Great Promises for those devoted to His Sacred Heart. One of those promises is, “I will bless the homes in which an image of My Heart is exposed and honored”. It is this promise that forms the basis of the Parish’s Enthronement Weekend. At all of the Masses on June 24 & 25, Enthronement Packets will be distributed, which will include beautiful pictures of Jesus and Mary. You are encouraged to get the pictures framed and then come together as a family to put the pictures in a place of honor while saying prayers to enthrone the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the home and consecrate your family to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This is a simple, yet very powerful way to obtain blessings and graces for your families.

CLEANING ANGELS NEEDED The Cleaning Angels Ministry is experiencing a big drop in volunteers. We have been pleading for more volunteers for months with no results. However, we recently received word that we will lose 3 or more volunteers in the next month. Therefore, we are in dire need of at least 6 volunteers immediately. Please con-sider joining our very important ministry that takes only a few hours a month. If you need more information on the particulars of our ministry, please call or email: Pat Reiland-Hess patricia reiland @ yahoo.com ----- 570-374-9445 OR Faye Straub [email protected] --- 570-539-8482.
