From a Marianist Community of student brothers open to visitors for Sunday Eucharist, Queen of Apostles Community emerged as a non-territorial parish on August 28, 1973.

Continuing in the tradition of the Marianist Charism, we come together each week as a family of Catholic, Christian believers, to worship our God in the Eucharist with song &

praise and to share in the breaking of the Bread. In so doing, we proclaim our willingness to build a community of love and to be the holy people God calls us to be.

If you are visiting and worshipping with us for the first time, we extend to you our warmest welcome. Our prayer is that your worship experience will be uplifting and Spirit filled.

We hope you will visit us often and worship with us!

(If you’d like more information about us or would like to join our Community, please fill out the form on the back cover and drop it in the collection basket!)

NOTE: If the form on the back is missing, email [email protected] with your name, phone number, address and we’ll contact you about joining us.

Marianist Doxology

May the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit be glorified in all places through the Immaculate Virgin Mary.

Stewardship & Giving

MOST HOLY BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST (CORPUS CHRISTI): “Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread.” (1 Corinthians 10:17). As disciples of Jesus, we are called to lead holy lives and invite others to join us. Living a stewardship lifestyle, being grateful and generous with our gifts, serves a twofold purpose. One, it helps build God’s kingdom here on earth. Two, it helps us strengthen each other’s relationship with God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. It becomes our road map to Heaven. Let’s help each other get there!

Deuteronomy 8:2-3, 14b-16a: The first reading helps develop the theological connection between manna and the Eucharistic bread, a connection Jesus himself makes in the gospel. In the body and blood of Christ, we have a perpetual pledge of God’s provident love.

1 Corinthians 10:16-17: By partaking of the body and blood of Christ we are joined to him and to one another in a unity of love that makes selfishness and individualism unthinkable. Eucharistic unity dispels prejudice, exclusivity, pride, disdain, arrogance, false humility or other expression of separation among people. Loving service of one another the natural expression of such unity.

John 6:51-58: Jesus has come down from heaven - not to give us food for the journey but to be our food for the journey. Jesus gives himself in the Eucharist, not divided or in part, but his very self, his being, his force, his soul and divinity. It is best not to concentrate on our worthiness to receive him but rather to dwell on how desperately we need to receive him to sustain ourselves.

Ministers Taking Eucharist to Those Not With Us

Presider: Let us send these ministers to those who could not be with us.

Response: Receive the Body of Christ for the nourishment of those who are not here with us. Assure our friends of our prayers and blessings throughout the week.

four original nursery areas at the facility. The new center will provide on-site laundry, bathroom with shower and a full kitchen for moms and families to use while their infants are receiving care at Brigid’s Path. Additional educational opportunities like cooking or finance classes will be offered, and an on-site visitation center will be available for program graduates

Funding for the $340,000 project was made partially possible by grants from The Dayton Foundation and The Virginia W. Kettering Foundation. We are still in need of additional funding for furniture, appliances and staffing in the new center. Will you help us? Donate Online at https://www.brigidspath.org/donate-online/ or send a check to us at Brigid’s Path, 3601 S. Dixie Dr. Dayton, OH 45439. We are not taking in kind donations at this time due to the Pandemic.

Thank you for the support you provide for our families and our organization. You make so much possible for us! Linda Folmar

COLLECTING FOR ST VINCENT DE PAUL: Just a reminder that we will have the bin available in the Vestibule to collect for St Vincent de Paul. If, for whatever reason, you will not be attending, but would still like to donate to St. Vincent de Paul, please let me know ([email protected]) so I can arrange to pick up your donation. Because someone alerted me to a Dayton Daily News article that said they had temporarily halted collections of certain items, I asked St. Vincent's what they are accepting. According to Diane Almanza, Manager of Volunteers, "At this time the shelter pantry is in need of canned goods and other shelf stable food items such as peanut butter, cereal, condiments, etc.. The shelters are also in need of bath towels/washcloths and sheets and blankets (new or gently used). We use twin-sized sheets for the beds in the shelter, but the other sizes we can send to our store to be used in starter kits for guests who are being rehoused. Also, any clothing and household items in good shape are always welcome." Wishing you God's blessings...Kevin Murnane

Be sure to let Deacon Greg know whether or not you would like your name included with the prayer intention(s). Our QAC Outlook email account ([email protected]) is temporarily having some difficulty...I need to reapply for a MicroSoft Office. Please be patient.

LAPTOPS FOR MALAWI STUDENTS: We have received several requests from students we support in Malawi for laptops. If anybody at QAC is upgrading their computers, we would love to take their old laptops to Malawi. THE INTERFAITH HOSPITALITY NETWORK (IHN) OF GREENE COUNTY - an affiliate of the national Family Promise organization, invites you to participate in a nationwide social media campaign to raise awareness and support for homeless families with children. The first national 'Night Without a Bed' sleepout will be held virtually the night of Saturday, June 20th. We know that many church and youth organizations are looking for activities that can be used to spark important conversations on helping our neighbors, but that can be performed virtually and safely. We are asking for your help in publicizing the event with your church members, especially youth groups that may be looking for educational activities. It would help us greatly if you could forward this information through your email list that you feel is most appropriate, add event information to your Facebook or other social media, or Like/Share the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greene County Facebook posts for the event. Our Facebook name is "Schneider House of Hope / IHN Greene." We look forward to seeing you on social media at 'Night Without a Bed' sleepout on June 20th! For more info, visit ihnofgreeneco.org/night-without-a-bed-event/. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact IHN, phone (937) 372-0705 or email [email protected]. Thank you for your support of homeless families in our community! Beth Holten, Director, Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greene County

SEEKING MINISTRY COORDINATORS - WE NEED YOU! Dear Friends,

The beginning of July is the time we recognize and pray for those who have made a commitment to the various outlets to serve others in our community. As Marianists, we are especially called to do this. In accordance with QAC's operating procedures, the term limits for each ministry coordinator is four years. There are many of us who've gone beyond four years as we love serving in our individual ministries. However, we have also continued to serve in leadership roles as no one in our community has expressed an interest to act as coordinator. Please know that each ministry coordinator (located on the last page of our bulletin) welcomes individuals who feel called to act as coordinator.

When I joined QAC, I had a toddler and premature twin infants. I was informed that I was expected to volunteer for a ministry. I really considered how I could possibly do this AND attend to the needs of my young children. I was given a deferment while one of my son's remained on a monitor. After that period of time - I was all in.

This is a community of service to others. It may involve lining up readers and Eucharistic ministers for weekly Mass. Or it may involve helping our community members when they have a need. We also help our community at large with collecting items for those in need. Most often, not that much volunteer time is necessary. If coordinating one of our ministries seems overwhelming, we also need our members to sign up to be volunteers for the ministries. The more people who volunteer, the less it falls to a few who are always willing to serve.

My prayer is that you will ask yourself, "What am I called to do to help my brothers and sisters in Christ?" Please contact me if you feel called to serve. I promise, you will receive much more than you give and you will truly understand the quote we recite at each Mass, "We're called to be the people that God calls us to be.”

As always, I pray that God blesses each of you, Terri Blanken, Lay Community Coordinator, [email protected]

REMEMBER OUR DEPLOYED SERVICE WOMEN & MEN, AS WELL AS ALL FIRST RESPONDERS / VOLUNTEERS IN YOUR PRAYERS: All those have put their lives on the lives for our Freedom, our health and our safety at the risk ahead of their own, during the

worldwide health crisis. “Lord, protect our military as they sacrifice for us; bless them and their families for their continuing selflessness, and all First Responders as well. ”Protect all these who willing risk their own health and safety for all of us. Please remember them all in your prayers, most especially those deployed in combat areas.

2020 CATHOLIC MINISTRIES APPEAL (CMA): We thank everyone who has participated in the 2020 Catholic Ministries Appeal. Our pledges let us impact the stories of thousands through six important Catholic ministries right here in our archdiocese. Additionally, 50% of all pledges in excess of our parish goal will go to the support of Social Justice projects of most concern in our parish, so please be as generous as you can. For more information or to donate online, please visit CatholicAppeal.info. Thank you!
