NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR Happy Summer!

We all wait for this time of year, especially those of us who do not win-

ter elsewhere. Similarly to going south for the winter, Wisconsin offers

the same pleasures with such a lovely, lush moderate climate for a few

months. I had the thought that this is much like life itself. There are

the good periods and the challenging times. Most of them are out of

our control but as we have learned from experience if we can muddle

through the challenging times the good periods come around again.

Perhaps as we enjoy the summer weather we can remember that the

respites we are given in life will always come again. It has always

been my personal philosophy during the trying times to have faith and

be excited for what lies around the corner. The good times will come

again. So I hope you all savor the season. It may seem short but it is

“oh so good!”

Article written by: Lynda Cran Business or Busyness!

Most of us , as seniors, have had jobs of some sort, whether as paid jobs or as housewives, mothers, fathers, farmers or business people. It does not matter what we’ve done, we all worked hard and had to multitask. A lot of us put in 8+ hours a day, then went home and worked some more. No rest, etc. As seniors we turn to busyness. Retirement is fun for awhile but a lot of folks get bored, myself included. Then folks start to volunteer. Thank God. The Senior Center is so very grateful for all of the volunteers. Without all of you volunteering it would be very difficult for the center to function. We can certainly keep you busy.
