Just Rock Ipswich News
Hi Folks Well, as of November 4, my tenure as president of Just Rock will come to an end and this is my last report. You all should be a fountain of knowledge with all the bits of trivia and words from ‘A Dog’s Life’ I have imparted to you at the end of my reports. Many thanks to my VP Dance for filling in for me when I was absent on club nights. My time hasn’t been without a few headaches over some challenging situations. I would like to thank Ian Smallwood for all his help in my first two years as president. This year he has only been a phone call away with advice on some situations that have arisen. Also thank you to Allan Park as I bent his ear at some of my most challenging times. It has been challenging sometimes when one is dealing with different personalities, but Allan reminded me on more than one occasion that we are all volunteers. Something we all should have thought about, but I got through the years with only a few extra grey hairs. Thank you to my committee, dance teachers, sub committees and all who have been involved with helping the club progress. My last pun: Homo sapiens who hyperbolize are not necessarily telling a terminological inexactitude, they are merely embellishing their mental creative abilities. A Dog’s Life: With a dog by your side, your happiness radar will always be very high. Something to think about: While it is nice to be important, it is more important to be nice.
Cheers Bev

VP CARS REPORT
I’d like to thank everyone for the enjoyable and interesting journey I have been a part of and as VP Cars with Just Rock Ipswich. It’s always fun to head out in a group to find new roads to follow and venues, pubs, cafes etc to experience, enjoying the fun that comes with classic cars! Remembering the time the red beetle needed to be push started and everyone jumped out to assist, and the time we tried to use walkie talkies travelling, or our last fish and chips run down the coast and we had to hang on to our chairs from the cyclonic conditions and the Christmas lights cruise is always magical. It’s wonderful to receive ideas/runs from other members of the club as we all learn something new that we didn’t know before. It’s also great to meet members with classic cars and make those connections and conversations and hear their stores and learn, and to now see the next generation of classic cars coming through (Go the Dato aka Datsun). I took forward to seeing the car cruises continue for years to come with the club, you don’t need to drive a classic to be a part of the cruise, it’s a monthly Sunday social event for all to enjoy. My parting tip—always find a place to stop with toilets. Thank you for the support during my time as VP Cars Just Rock Ipswich. The new committee will organise the November Car Cruise and December Christmas Lights Cruise. Rob
OCTOBER 2019 CAN TAB NEWS—RAISING FUNDS FOR RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARI-TIES S.E.QLD.
Two bank deposits since our last “news”. $90 on 29 August and $158 on 23 October—grand total is $10797. This amount is equivalent to collecting approx 36,440,000 can tabs. Next report will be in 2020. So it’s time once again to say a big thank you to all supporters. You are helping families with sick children have a place to stay in a caring environment close to medical care. Best wishes for Christmas and 2020. Keep safe and encourage others to collect can tabs.
