It has been an absolute delight to welcome students back to Katunga South PS last week. Their warmth, enthusiasm and excitement to be back has created a great positive vibe around the school. Schools are dismal places without their students and the past 9 weeks felt like a very long time even if it did include two weeks of holidays. Liz, Wayne & Angela would just like to say Thank Youto all Katunga South families for the wonderful support shown to us by their acceptance of the change to the new learning environment. This allowed children to continue their studies with minimal disruption to the curriculum. The positive attitude shown by parents and students made our period of isolation productive. It is encouraging to see that COVID-19 infections remain low and our hope is that as this continues, we will see the lifting of some of the restrictions that will then allow us to restart curricular activities, assemblies and possibly even excursions in the future. These are things that add fun to and enhance learning, and allow students to pursue their passions and dreams. As we continue to negotiate this social re-emergence, We look forward to parents returning to walking into school. In the meantime, while we wait for this to be relaxed, we are feeling a strong sense of community in the way parents and families are supporting each other in the community. We encourage you to keep on actively caring for each other as we continue the journey together. New Student Computers The school has purchased new Lenovo Think Pads for the students. The old computers were sent home with students during the lock down period along with their work packages. School Council decided to to give these computers to the school families if they would like to use them within the home.

2020 CALENDAR OF EVENTS

Term 2 - Monday - June 8— Queens Birthday Weekend Public Holiday—no school for students Friday—26 June—Last day of Term 2

Welcome back! It has been an absolute delight to welcome students back to Katunga South PS last week. Their warmth, enthusiasm and excitement to be back has created a great positive vibe around the school. Schools are dismal places without their students and the past 9 weeks felt like a very long time even if it did include two weeks of holidays.

Liz, Wayne & Angela would just like to say “Thank You” to all Katunga South families for the wonderful support shown to us by their acceptance of the change to the new learning environment.

New Student Computers

The school has purchased new Lenovo Think Pads for the students. The old computers were sent home with students during the lock down period along with their work packages.

New school sign and fence painting Over the school holiday break we had new signage installed and our boundary fence repainted. This is just the start of our refresh of our lovely school.

The next step will be over the next school holidays with the painting of the old schoolhouse building and the administration block - these changes will certainly show off our refresh.
