The Chat @ the FlatNo 10 Wednesday, 18th April 2018 Dear Parents and Friends, Respect, Responsibility, Teamwork and Being Your Best Welcome to Term 2! I hope Easter Bunny found his way to your home and generously dropped off treats for you all to enjoy. I especially hope that you have all enjoyed some quality family time that involved relaxation. It has been wonderful to see all the smiling and happy faces as students, staff and parents reconnect after the holidays! I look forward to a very successful and busy Term 2 program with many highlights to embrace! Welcome I would also like to welcome 4 new families to our school community. I thank you for choosing Kangaroo Flat Primary School for your childs education and I look forward to formally welcoming our new students at our assembly this Friday morning. Alsostaff welcomes…..Rhys Bull returns to our school after his leave during Term 1, he will support students in the Grade 5 classrooms and we welcome Rachelle Pointon and Amanda Vincent to our school in the role of Education Support. Happy Birthday! As all of our Foundation students would know…….. today is Milo Monkeys birthday! Hip Hip Hooray!! Invitations were sent home to Prep families on Monday for Milos Birthday celebration and Parent information session to be held this afternoon from 5:30 – 6:30pm. Milos birthday celebration will also include a very special visitor, Maureen Pollard, the creator of the Little Learners Love Literacy program in which our Foundation students are immersing themselves in. I encourage our families to be involved in this wonderful opportunity to hear what and how our students are learning during their Literacy workshops at school. Sunsmart As a registered Sunsmart school we are required to wear our sun smart hats from 1 st September until 30 th April. This is due to Victorias UV levels typically being 3 or greater during these times of the year. Therefore, we ask students to continue to wear a sun smart hat until the end of next week please. Anzac Day ceremonies Our school will also play a significant role in the local Kangaroo Flat Anzac Day service on Wednesday 25 th April at 9:30am. Our school choir will be singing and our school captains will be laying a wreath at the cenotaph. Our whole school community is invited to attend the Kangaroo Flat Anzac service as it is important for our students to recognize the significance of such a commemorative service. I would love to see a strong representation to walk alongside our school banner. Those walking can meet staff at 9:00am on the corner of the St. Monicas school. If possible, please wear your school uniform. We will also acknowledge Anzac Day during our regular Friday morning assembly on April 27 th at 9am. We welcome all families to attend our assembly.
