• Internal = inside of the body

• Heredity: the passing of genetic information from one generation to the next

• Chromosomes are found inside the nucleus of every cell. They contain genetic material (DNA that is filled with genes).

• Turgor Pressure: Water pressure in the vacuoles of plant cells causes the plant to stand up. If the plant looses water, it looses turgor pressure and wilts (droops)

• Inherited traits are traits that you get form your parents such as: hair color, eye color, shape of your face, curly hair vs. straight.

• Physical traits like a scar, a burn, or a tattoo are not inherited traits!

• Learned traits come from your environment like the language you speak or the ability to read.

Asexual Reproduction• There is only 1 parent• Produces offspring that are genetically

identical (uniform) to the parent.• Can reproduce quickly and create large

numbers of that organism

Sexual Reproduction

• Have 2 parents (genetic donors)• The offspring (kids) are never genetically

identical to the parents. • Genetic variations help these organisms adapt

to their ever-changing environments. This increases the chance of species survival

• To find total magnification of a compound microscope, you must MULTIPLY the eyepiece and the objective lens.

Example:-Eyepiece = 10-Objective Lens = 100010 X 1000 = 10000 magnification
