Kororo Public School Dear Parents, Last week it was my pleasure to award 7 Stage 3 boys with certificates for their participation in the Lachlan Macquarie College Gifted and Talented Mathematics Competition held at St Francis Xavier School in Woolgoolga. The students had a fabulous time and were challenged to think outside their comfort zone, with one of the Kororo Public School Teams finishing in 4 th place out of a possible 26 teams from Public, Catholic and Independent schools. A truly fine effort. Year 3 and Year 4 students are off enjoying fabulous learning experiences as a part of their annual overnight excursions this week. I cant wait to hear all the wonderful stories and see the photos upon their return. Please look out on Skoolbag for an alert of their estimated arrival time to school on Friday afternoon. Next week Year 6 students will embark on their annual excursion to Sydney. Please make sure that all payments have been finalised and that your child understands the responsibility of travelling away from home for an extended period of time. Our students and families here at Kororo Public School are so fortunate to have such dedicated and generous teachers that are willing to give up their own time with their families to facilitate these amazing overnight experiences with their students. Excursions like these often create the fondest memories of primary school, ones that are cherished for many years to come. Thank you to the parents that have completed our Parent Satisfaction Survey over the past few weeks through the Skoolbag link. The survey showed that the school is doing a wonderful job at making our families feel welcome and supported. We would like to continue to develop these strong partnerships between the school and your home. If you have anything that you would like to discuss about your childs learning please dont hesitate to make an appointment with myself or your childs classroom teacher. Dear Parents, Last week it was my pleasure to award 7 Stage 3 boys with certificates for their participation in the Lachlan Macquarie College Gifted and Talented Mathematics Competition held at St Francis Xavier School in Woolgoolga. The students had a fabulous time and were challenged to think outside their comfort zone, with one of the Kororo Public School Teams finishing in 4th place out of a possible 26 teams from Public, Catholic and Independent schools. A truly fine effort.

Year 3 and Year 4 students are off enjoying fabulous learning experiences as a part of their annual overnight excursions this week. I can’t wait to hear all the wonderful stories and see the photos upon their return. Thank you to the parents that have

completed our Parent Satisfaction Survey

over the past few weeks through the

Skoolbag link. The survey showed that the

school is doing a wonderful job at making

our families feel welcome and supported.

We would like to continue to develop these

strong partnerships between the school and

your home. If you have anything that you

would like to discuss about your child’s

DEPUTY’S REPORT by Carolyn Burns - relieving

Hello Parents, Our school was the lucky recipient of the Book Warehouse ‘Win for Your School Library’ $100 gift voucher. A very big thank you to Liam Wilson for entering Kororo PS in the competition. Five staff members were fortunate to attend Connecting to Country professional learning last week. We had visited local places of significance at Red Rock and experienced cultural dance and art at Yarrawarra Aboriginal Centre. Over the three days staff from local primary and high schools listened to speakers, participated in activities and developed their understanding of Gumbaynggiir history, culture, stories and language. Throughout this valuable learning opportunity our focus was on maintaining a collaborative partnership into the future for Kororo PS students, parents, teachers and the wider community.

A PLEA FROM A CONCERNED NEIGHBOUR!

“Could parents please PLEASE stop parking in the NO STOPPING areas along James Small Drive (north of the crossing) as they are blocking the small footpath and children are having to walk on the road to get past the

cars parked on the path.”

Sadly, we have had numerous phone calls from our community who are parking in ‘No Stopping’ zones, on pedestrian crossings, doing U turns across

the double white lines and making dangerous choices! Some of you have been booked, it’s a really heavy fine.

Can you afford it?

Student safety is always our first concern. We would appreciate your support with this by ensuring you are obeying the road rules.
