It was so inspiring to see the smiling faces of all the children as they competed in their House colours. As you can appreciate, a day such as this takes a great deal of behind the scenes work with careful planning and many hours of preparation. I would like to thank Steve Laforet for all the work he put in prior to the day to make it so successful. Below are just a few photos that I managed to snap on the day, but if you would like to see more, I have added a gallery to the Phys Ed page on the website. (Under Class News). MOBILE LIBRARY VAN VISITS: Below is a list of dates that the Library Van is available for our students to borrow books and resources through to the end of the year: July 7 th August 17 th and 31 st September 14 th October 12 th and 26 th November 9 th and 23 rd December 7 th and 21 st Please remember that there is a box in the foyer that books can be placed in if you would like to return books between the Library Van visits. SCHOOL CROSSING: We are so excited to welcome Melissa, our new Crossing Supervisor to our school community. It is so wonderful to see everyone in the community using the new crossing and following her instructions. As a parent, the best way that you can help your child use the crossing correctly is by modelling the behaviours that you would expect the children to use as you cross the road safely, in particular, listening to the directions of the crossing supervisor and following through accordingly. MESSAGES AT THE END OF THE DAY: Please be aware that the office at the end of the day is a very busy place and my lovely, very accommodating staff are often inundated with calls from parents making different arrangements with the children for pick up and / or bus use, expecting them to pass on messages to the children. (One afternoon last week I counted over 15 calls for children to come to the office for a message”!) Whilst we are happy to help out in emergencies, we would respectfully ask that you keep calls such as these to a minimum, as it is very disruptive to all classes.
