Dear SouthWestars, three quarters of Team Resolute’s and my term is

over, only one more to go! Perhaps, we can reminisce and see what

more we can do in this last quarter. I am hopeful that we shall be able

to keep up the spirit and continue with same zest to complete whatever

community service projects & programs in the remaining period.

Light For Life! 11th April, 2015, a small team of SouthWestars lead by the President, visited Sri Morarji Desai Residential School, Madanahalli Cross, Kolar. The school has a strength of about 250m male and female students, primarily belonging to the backward class. Being a residential school with students living within its premises, installation of a UPS System was considered most appropriate and accordingly, a UPS System was sponsored by RBSW. The system installed with local support from Rotary Kolar club, in particular from its President, Rtn S Nagashekar and Secretary, Rtn M N Ramachandra Gowda, will provide uninterruptible power supply for lighting in a large class room, facilitating the students to gather in the room for studies at night. The system was formally handed over to the Headmaster, Mr Shankare Gowda by Rtn PP K N Chendra Shekher.

The remarkably striking features of the school are, its sprawling clean premises, neatly spread out

school buildings, separate residential buildings for male and female students, clean dining hall with

self contained kitchen. The Headmaster, teachers and support staff appeared well motivated.
