With some Indonesian legislators calling for Corby's release after nine years in prison be delayed due to the current poor state of relations between Indonesian and Australia, the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights has taken pains to say the decision to grant parole was not a political decision and based solely on the Australian woman's fulfillment of the s u b s t a n t i v e a n d administrative requirements.

Quoted by the State News Agency Antara, the Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Amir Syamsuddin, told the press on Friday, February 7, 2014: “These are rights stipulated in government regulations and various government rules. Therefore, in my capacity as Minister, (it's

Corby's release on parole is just one among 1,291 prisoners being granted similar parole.

Although the Minister has s igned the formal certificate of parole the week before, Corby remained in prison in Bali until Monday when a hard copy of the parole order was delivered to Bali prison officials.

Schapelle Corby must remain in Bali, reporting to police on a regular basis, until July 2017 when her period of parole ends and she wlll likely deported from the Country.

She will spend her p a r o l e i n a B a l i n e s e compound occupied by her sister, Mercedes and her Balinese husband in Kuta.

Gday again punters and welcome to the latest on the street in Bali. A huge week has been had by all and sundry at the our office with the winter olympics starting and most things being telecast late at night, meaning a heap of sleep deprivation in the ranks. Its been a special kind of week for one Aussie traveller who was given an official parole after more than nine years in what has been coined hotel K. I think we all know who Im writing about and to comment on the circus that was shown on the television the morning of her

release and to say anything other than disgracefull would be an understatement.

I watched along with many other people at the absolute bedlam the media pack performed as this paroled prisoner was released to home detention on the island, the entire time thinking these people call themselves professionals. The poor girl was knocked, pushed and even hit to the ground while trying to enter the bus to go and finalize the paper work that has taken many years to get over the line by the powers that be and people wonder why its taken so long.

Indonesia, whether people like it or not run a fairly decent country and knew that this would be on the cards, hence the extra security involved around her parole release. The powers that be are not really keen on any publicity when it comes to crime, as they keep their dirty laundry like the rest of us, in house, so whether you like it or not, that's the way it is.

Now, these pricks that are employed to get pictures and footage of the event acted like it was a pride of lions at a feed and in my opinion acted about as unprofessional as anything I've seen in my career. I can sum it up in two words, Fucking Pathetic.

Do you think this girl is going to try and spoil any chance that she has at her parole by flaunting herself to every camera that gets jammed in her face?? I think not, and do you think for one minute that the family would endorse that ?? I think not again. With my little, probably unheard voice in this paper, I would respectfully ask these vulchers to back off and respect this girls space. When she has the ability to talk to you, Im certain she will, but chasing her on a motorbike down the street, isn’t going to do anyone, any good at this point in time. Back off you arse holes.

On a final note regarding the subject, as it isn’t a topic that we traditionally put in our feel good paper, I think I speak for almost all Australians when I say thank you to the powers that be in Indonesia for the consideration given to the case and the granting of bail to the prisoner. At the end of the day I imagine it was a very political jumble and would have been a very complicated thing to deal with but in the end they have done what they feel is best, and in this instance it works for all concerned. Thank you very much for the consideration and action involved.

Ok folks that's about all I wanted to get off my chest this week, and right before the footy starts again for the year. I see they are saying 18 games in 18 days and straight away my liver yelled out HELLPPPPP. I can see 18 days of punishment on the way, but I guess it will get me into training for when the real footy season starts, then my loyal readers you will have to get used too “Karn The Pies” every week and wont that be fun. All right, I hope the most of you stay safe, happy, healthy and always remember, you can not change the truth but the truth can change you.

Enjoy your week,

ALIASJ……

As a foreigner, there is a number of ways that can lead to you owning your dream property in Bali.

The best option for you will depend on your personal situation, the type of property, risk factors and the type of investment model.Even though it states in Indonesian law that foreigners are not allowed to hold a 'freehold' land title, there are ways that have been in practice for a number of years that enable foreigners to control a freehold title indirectly or to hold a leasehold title in their own name.RIGHT OF USE (HAK PAKAI)

This is the right of use over state-owned (crown land) or property owned by public or private persons/entities for a specific purpose for (generally) a finite period and occasionally for an indefinite period. This land right may not be sold, exchanged or transferred unless explicitly state in an agreement.

Hak pakai may be held by and Indonesian

individual or entity. Or foreigner permanently domiciled in Indonesia, or a foreign legal entity with a representative office in Indonesia such as foreign Banks, embassies, etc.NOMINEE SYSTEM FOR HAK MILIK

This structure is a regularly practiced procedure in Indonesia, whereby the foreigner nominates and Indonesian representative to acquire the land and to hold the 'freehold' title (Hak Milik) on behalf of the foreigner.

Ownership of the land is transferred from the previous owner to the Indonesian nominee.

The foreigner and the Indonesian nominee then sign an agreement which recognizes the Indonesian nominee as the legal owner of the property whilst declaring the foreigner as the rightful owner of the property. This agreement denotes that the Indonesian nominee will carry out any directives from the foreigner regarding the land. This agreement must always be concluded in the presence of a public notary.

Hutabarat named 11 failed Indonesian airlines, including: Sempati Air, AW air, Indonesia Airlines, Bouraq, Adam Air, Kartika Airlines, Riau Airlines, Linus Air, Pacific Royal, Star Air and Batavia Air.

Complaining that many of these airlines simply closed their doors and left unpaid debts to travel agents, Hutabarat said, “hopefully, Mandala has the good faith to return 100% of tickets already paid without any cuts for administration and allows their old tickets to be used for other destinations they serve."

At this point, Mandala continues to operate but with a reduced number of air routes.

According to the Facebook page of Tiger air Mandala, the routes closed until at least April

The shaky financial footing of a large number of I n d o n e s i a n a i r l i n e s continues to inflict pain and inconvenience on the flying public.

Tiger air Mandala Airline's decision to suspend service on several of their routes has evoked strong criticism from the Association of Indonesian Ticket Agents (Astindo).

Elly Hutabarat, the chairman of Astindo, told the State News Agency Antara on Saturday, February 8, 2014: “We deeply regret what 's happening Tiger a i r Mandala. This is not an isolated case, but has happened several time with air carriers.”

As reported by Bisnis.com, Tiger air Mandala suddenly closed eleven domestic and regional air routes starting from February until April 2014.

Passengers were left holding paid-for tickets on the suspended air routes.

Hutabarat complained that there are many airlines that have gone bankrupt and left travel agents and ticket agents with substantial losses as a result.

Australia's largest jellyfish washes ashore"Something is going on out there, we don't know why and we don't actually know w h a t e f f e c t i t ' s having."

The creature's sting is not lethal but is painful, Dr Gershwin said from personal experience.

"It feels l ike being stabbed by an ice-pick," she said.

"It's worth staying away from."An unidentified jellyfish that

washed up on a Hobart beach could be the largest ever seen in Australia.

The 1.5-metre monster was photographed by a family walking on the beach last month.

Their find coincided with CSIRO scientists working to classify the new species, which has reached plague proportions around southern Tasmania.

"It is new to science, it's not

yet been c lassi f ied," jellyfish expert Dr Lisa-ann Gershwin said.

"Then all of a sudden here comes this huge one and it's like, wow, this guy's a whopper.

"As Australian jellyfish go this would have to take the cake."

Dr Gershwin said the white and pink gelatinous lump was from the same group as the world's largest species, found in the Arctic, which grows to three metres across.

It is not known why the creature is enjoying a bumper

s e a s o n , a n d growing to sizes larger than normal.

Theories range from warmer water to a different chemical composition in the ocean.

" T h e s u p e r abundances that we've been seeing last year and this year are really quite unusual and we don't know why," Dr Gershwin

said."We don't if it's something

that has changed in the water, that this is the new normal, or if it's just a blip."

It could also be a problem, with the species at least classified as one thing a pest.

Each female potentially produces millions of offspring and they eat masses of plankton, fish eggs and fish larvae.

"Whenever the oceans go a little bit wobbly the jellyfish seem to be the ones that come out the most victorious," Dr Gershwin

As part of a plea deal, Athens will have to pay $4,000 to repair any damage he caused.

It is best known for the 1836 battle between the Mexican Army and Texas settlers fighting for independence from Mexico.

The Alamo has suffered its share of urinary insults over the years, the most famous was from British rocker OzzyOsbourne, who in 1982 urinated on the Cenotaph, a memorial to the Texans killed at the battle.

Osbourne was banned from the city by the city council, a symbolic move that was later rescinded after he donated $10,000 for the Alamo's upkeep.

Yesterday my owner had just got out of the shower and was bending down to dry her

toes, and I just couldn't help myself. I hopped on

her back and started hammering away." The Black and the Yellow Labs exchanged a sad glance and said, " So, it's nuts off for you too,

huh ?"

The Great Dane said, " No, apparently I'm here to get my nails clipped ! "

The Irish Hooker

An Irishman was walking home late at night and sees a woman lurking in the

shadows.'Twenty pound,” she whispers. Paddy had never had a hooker before, but

decides -- what the hell, it's only twenty pound. So they hide in the bushes. They're going at it for a couple of

minutes when, all of a sudden, a light flashes on them. It's a police officer.

'What's going on here, people?' asks the officer. 'I'm making love to me wife,'

the Irishman answers sounding annoyed. 'Oh, I'm so sorry,' says the cop, 'I didn't know.' 'Well, needer did I,' says Paddy, 'til ya shoined dat fokin light in

her face!

Jumping

A young man

joined the

army and

signed up with the paratroopers. He went

through the standard training, completed

the practice jumps from higher and higher

structures, and finally went to take his

first jump from an airplane. The next day,

he called home to tell his father the news.

"So, did you jump?" asked the father.

"Well, let me tell you what happened," the

son said. "We got up in the plane, and the

sergeant opened up the door and asked for

volunteers. About a dozen men got up and

just walked out of the plane.'

"Is that when you jumped?" asked his

father. "Uh., no. The sergeant started to

grab the other men one at a time and throw

them out the door." "Did you jump then?"

asked his father.

"I'm getting to that. Everyone else had

jumped, and I was the last man left on the

plane. I told the sergeant that I was too

scared to jump. He told me to get off the

plane or he'd kick my butt." "So, did you

jump?"

"No. He tried to push me out of the plane,

but I grabbed onto the door and refused

to go. Finally he called over the Jump

Master. The Jump Master is this great

big guy, about six-foot five, and 250

pounds. He said to me, "Are you gonna

jump or not?" I said, "No sir, I'm too

scared." So the Jump Master pulled down

his zipper and took out his you-know-what.

I swear, dad it was about ten inches long

and big around as a baseball bat! He said,

"Either you jump out that door, or I'm

sticking this little baby up your ass."

“So, did you jump?" asked his father.

"Well, a little, at first"

Second TimeA young Catholic girl went to confession and said to the priest, "I'm pregnant."

He asked, "How did this happen, my child?" She said, "I think it must have been the second coming."

The priest, shocked by this reply, asked, "What makes you think this has anything to do with the Second Coming?" She replied, "Because I swallowed the

first one."

Cancer cure with smartphone game Gaming enthusiasts across the world can now join the search for cancer cures with a citizen science project using a smartphone game to help researchers analyse vast volumes of genetic data from tumour samples.

Called "Play to Cure Genes in Space", the s p a c e s h i p g a m e i s designed for smartphones and was launched by the charity Cancer Research UK (CRUK), which hopes it will speed up the decoding of data to reveal patterns of the genetic faults that cause cancers to grow and spread.

Travelling in a world set 800 years in the future, players guide a fast-paced spaceship safely through a hazard-strewn intergalact ic assault course, gathering along the way a fictional precious cargo called "Element Alpha".

Each time a player steers the ship to follow the Element Alpha path, they also reveal patterns and, unwittingly, provide analysis of variations in the genetic data, explained Hannah Keartland, who led the project for CRUK and unveiled the game at a London launch.

It is this information that will be fed back to CRUK scientists. And to ensure accuracy, each section of gene data will be tracked by several different players.

" W e w a n t a n y o n e , anywhere, at any age, to download this game and play it," said Keartland.

If everyone around the world were to play the game for even a couple of minutes each, she said, "we could have an absolutely mind-blowing impact in terms of accelerating research".

An estimated 14 million people worldwide are diagnosed with cancer each year and that toll is expected to rise to 22 million a year within the next 20 years, according to a World Health Organization report.

Scientists will use the

information gathered from "Genes in Space" players to work out which genes are faulty in cancer patients. This in turn should help them develop new drugs that target specific genetic faults, and new ways to figure out how to stop cancer developing in the first place.

"It's not just a game, it's way of saving lives," said Tony Selman, a 72-year-old prostate cancer survivor from Middlesex, central England, who helped launch the new game.

Play to Cure is CRUK's second citizen project following a similar but smaller one last year called CellSlider which the charity said cut the time needed for researchers to analyze a set of breast cancer samples from 18 months to three months.

Professor Carlos Caldas, an oncologist at CRUK's Cambridge Institute, explained that it works by using data generated by screening t o o l s c a l l e d g e n e microarrayswhich scientists use to look for areas of the human genome that show up faults in

cancer patients a sign they may be causing the disease.

Gene microarrays are useful for analyzing large genetic faults k n o w n a s c o p y n u m b e r alterationswhen a whole section of the chromosome is gained or lost.

Since these large sections of chromosomes may involve many different genes, scientists need a way to work out which are the ones driving cancer known as oncogenes and which ones are just "passenger" genes along for the ride, he said.

S c i e n t i s t s generally use computer software to trawl through the huge amounts of data g e n e r a t e d b y microarrays to spot the

precise locations of copy number changes, but in many cases these are not accurate enough.

“Computers are very good, but they are not perfect," Caldas told reporters. "The human eye is still the best technology we have for picking up these patterns, a n d . . . G e n e s i n S p a c e i s harnessing that power."

Jones told a witness that stealing a Stradivarius violin "was his dream theft" because of its potential value and it could be "snatched from the hands of a musician as they walk down the street," the criminal complaint said.

The complaint said Jones had Allah buy the Taser for him last summer because he did not have a permit for it.

A few months later, Jones told Allah that he needed the Taser to acquire an instrument that was rare and one of a kind, the complaint said. Before the theft, Allah retrieved the Taser from a safe, it said.

After his arrest, Jones told authorities they could find the

The violin, which was made in 1715 and had an appraised value of $5 million for insurance purposes, was recovered from a Milwaukee residence, where it had been stored in a suitcase in the attic, police said.

Sa lah Jones, 41, and Universal Knowledge Allah, 36, were charged with felony robbery and Allah was also charged with marijuana possession. A 32-year-old woman arrested in connection with the crime, has not been charged.

Early last week, the thieves took the violin after incapacitating concert musician Frank Almond with a stun gun as he left a concert in suburban Milwaukee, authorities said.

The island of Bali is known for its natural beauty and unique culture. This tropical paradise attracts many tourists throughout the year, many of which book the coastal beachfront hotels in Bali at surprisingly great rates. The most popular beaches that travelers love to relax at are Kuta, Sanur and Dreamland. This list will soon include a new hotspot because recently, a new amazing beach has opened and has quickly become a favorite among both the locals and visitors in Bali. This beach is called Pandawa Beach. Have you heard it before? Maybe for some of you it is still unfamiliar, but once you know it you will be eager to visit it.

Pandawa Beach is located in Kutuh Village, South Kuta District, Badung Regency; around 3 km from the famous Nusa Dua area and Uluwatu Temple. In the past, this beach was hidden behind hill so it was called Secret Beach. Secret Beach actually had known well by some tourists. However, the difficult access to this location made this beach was empty. The visitors of this beach were only a few foreign surfers or domestic tourists. Fortunately, the local government of Badung Regency realized the potential of this beach and quickly managed this beach then launched it as a new mainstay attraction. The result can now be felt such as a better access heading to the beach which is now become more convenient for any vehicles.

statue on the street pandawa baliPandawa Beach has a stunning panorama with serene and quiet atmosphere. When entering the beach area, we will be amazed by beautiful panorama of high cliff, flanking the road along 1.5 km. The road is purposively built through limestone hills in Kutuh Village, similar with the hills in GWK. Approaching the beach, these limestone hills are holed and carved artistically. In these holes, statues of Pandawa characters from Mahabaratha story are placed, such as Yudhistira / Dharmawangsa, Bima, Arjuna, Nakula, and

Sahadewa. Therefore, this beach is called Pandawa Beach.

When entering the area of Pandawa Beach, you will be madae astonished by beautiful view in front of you. The sand in this beach is so white and clean which is combined with a background of turquoise sea. The ambience is still quiet, serene, and clean. There are no garbages, and if there is any, those are only the remains of seaweed brought by the wave. This beach is very suitable for swimming because the wave and current is not so strong. Various activities can be done in

this beach for example playing sand or sunbathing. Because of its geographical location in the east of Bali Island, we can see the amazing sunrise panorama in this beach.

In addition, we can also observe the activities of the seaweed farmers along the coast directly. Because of its shallow contour and short wave, Pandawa Beach is very suitable for cultivating seaweed. No wonder if lot of the local residents choose to be seaweed farmers.

Besides that, there is also an interesting recreation activity around this area which is called paragliding. If the weather is fine and the wind is quite strong, you can see or try this activity directly. The location for starting this activity is actually not in Pandawa Beach, but in Timbis Hill which is not too far from this beach. Usually, this paragliding activity is done in day or afternoon time, if the weather meets the requirements. While you are paragliding, you will be able to see the true beauty of Pandawa Beach from the height. Don't worry if you are a newbie or even a first-timer, because a training centre and instructors are available if needed. If you are interested in trying paragliding, you can go to Timbis Hill which is only a few kilometers away from Pandawa Beach.

After a long off season footy is finally back and here's why we love it

THE new look AFL pre-s e a s o n k i c k s o f f o n Wednesday and what better way to celebrate 18 games in 18 days than the 18 things we love about footy's return.

From the young guns who promise to be the future stars of the game to the crazy rules, crazy trophies and crazy guernseys, the pre-season offers a smorgasbord for we footy fans.

So, without further ado, let's look at what makes this time of year so great.1. Footy's back, finally

All the talking and pre-season training is over as the action returns to the field and we countdown to the season proper. It may not be the real deal but after almost five months of off-season gossip and whispers we'll take anything and everything. Wednesday can't come soon enough.2. First look at the draftees

The pre-season is the first time we get a look at our club's new draftees. They bring a sense of hope to the new season, especially for those teams looking to move up the ladder. The likes of Tom Boyd, Josh Kelly, James Aish, Luke McDonald and Dominic Sheed are sure to get plenty of attention.3. New faces in new colours

Excited about the superstar your club picked up in trade week or via free agency? The likes of Gary Ablett, Brendon Goddard and Chris Judd bring new hope to a club looking for premiership success. Although for every Ablett there is a Jade Rawlings or Israel Folau. Can the likes of Heath Shaw, Lance Franklin and Paul Chapman help their team take the next step?4. Special guernseys

Last week, we looked at some of the best and worst pre-season jumpers to grace an AFL ground. It is certainly one of the

unique aspects of the pre-season competit ion (not to mention fundraising). St Kilda will revive the haloed stick man this season.Hawthorn wore this horrific jumper in the 1999 pre-season.5. Michael Tuck Medal - a tribute

Alas, with the NAB Cup coming to an end, so too will the Michael Tuck Medal. Handed out to the best player in the pre-season competition's grand final, the medal was first awarded in 1992. Hopefully the AFL can find a new way to honour Australian football games record holder. Hawthorn's Paul Hudson won the first and Brisbane

Lion Daniel Rich was the final recipient.6. Regional visits

While the regular season is almost exclusively played in Australia's capital cities, the pre-season competition takes the game to the fans in regional areas. This season games will be played in Wagga, Wangaratta, Joondalup and Townsville. In past years, Berri (SA), Mandurah (WA), Shepparton (Vic) and Cooparoo (Qld) have also hosted matches.7. The best pre-season ever cliche

It's one of the most-loved clichés during the AFL pre-season. Each and every year clubs are having their “best pre-season ever” and every player is “flying” on the track. In a game when “every match

is important” and the season is taken “week by week”, this cliche endures.8. New rules

Every year the AFL comes out with a new rule to be trialled during the pre-season. In the past we've seen ideas such as a free kick paid against the player who last touched the ball before it went out of bounds and rules that are now used in the regular season such as the substitute and this season an interchange cap. This year will see changes to marking contests, contact below the knee and limiting the number of runners on the

ground.9. Super Goals

Introduced in 2003, the Super Goal is worth nine points when kicked from outside 50m. One of the AFL's best creations, it deserves its own place in this countdown. Melbourne's Paul Wheatley slotted the first-ever Super Goal in and the likes of Lance Franklin, Travis Cloke and Daniel Rich have been profiting ever since.10. Fool's Gold

Carlton, 2005. Brisbane Lions, 2013. Nearly every

season there is one team that performs above and beyond expectations in the pre-season only to crash and burn when the real action begins. Perhaps there is no better example of this than the Blues of 2005 - the only side to have won the pre-season competition and wooden spoon in the same year.11. A clean slate

It's a new season and clubs who've had a difficult season the year before can finally get back on the field and prove their worth. Essendon is still being hounded by the supplements scandal of 2013 while Adelaide and West Coast are l o o k i n g t o r e b o u n d f r o m disappointing campaigns.

12. Something to talk about around the water cooler

With all due respect to the summer sports, we can only talk about Shane Watson's calf, Sydney FC's coaching merry-go-round and Bernard Tomic's behaviour for so long. Footy's return also heralds the return of office rivalries, debate over who will make the top eight and whether Lance Franklin will succeed in Sydney.13. Dane Swan's updated ink

It seems like every year the tattooed Magpie had added a new piece of art to his body. However, it's not just Swan who is disappearing underneath a layer of ink as a legion of the AFL's best players are now following suit. The likes of teammate Dayne Beams, Richmond's Dustin Martin, new Swan Lance Franklin and Fremantle's Michael Walters are also sporting “sleeves”. We're not sure Adam Cooney's “sock” counts though.14. Stud to dud

Every year there's a few players burning up the track (another favourite cliche) but fail to deliver come the season proper. Last year it was Patrick Karnezis, who

failed to fire after a strong pre-season. Early nominees for this season are Dale Thomas, Shaun Atley, Jesse Hogan and Hamish McIntosh.15. Paul Roos' contempt/Grant Thomas' smile

Coaches haven't always been great lovers of the pre-season competition as injuries, in particular, take their toll. While coaching Sydney, Paul Roos was famous for not giving a *cough, cough* about practice matches. He was once heard telling Jarrad McVeigh to push forward but not to kick any goals. Former Saints mentor Grant Thomas also provided one of the best worst moments in NAB Cup history. In 2004 as he and Lenny Hayes posed with the trophy after winning the grand final, they looked like someone had died.16. SuperCoach study

It's that time of year when hundreds of thousands of fantasy football fanatics are lost to the world for weeks on end. The important questions must be answered; is Player X better than Player Y? Who's in pre-season

form and has their role changed? Which rookie is to be the best cash cow and can Gary Ablett continue to produce mind-boggling scores?17. Crazy trophies

A s t h e p r e - s e a s o n competition has changed, so too has the trophy. For the craziest trophy, the cake has to go to the Wizard Cup. A huge bright orange and steel cone that looks more like the dog collars used by vets. The NAB Cup was certainly an improvement, although it still looked like an ancient Greek vase with players etched into the side of it.18. Mike Sheahan's Top 50

The mystical pre-season Top 50 certainly creates its fair share of debate. We still don't know when the traditional player rankings will be announced but chances are Gary Ablett will sit upon the No.1 throne for the second season in a row. We wait with bated breath to find out who will feature in Mike's list this season.

13 Feb - 19 Feb 2014Aries Mar 21 - Apr 20It is not impossible to walk or run up a downward escalator. It does, however, require effort. We discover inertia when we're trying to go resist momentum but, if desire is great enough, then we can overcome it. Recently, you might have felt as if you were struggling to progress a plan and inertia was working very much against you. What needs keeping a close eye on this week is overzealousness. You don't need to try as hard as you think you do in some way and neither should you consider a more difficult option when a much easier one is begging for your attention.

Taurus Apr 21 - May 21If a certain tense or unwelcome situation is unfolding and you feel powerless to stop it from doing so, should it not be left alone to be dealt with as it manifests itself? You could be looking at a much bigger unnecessarily now when it is 'here and now' that demands your attention the most and that's the message from the cosmos to you this week. Allow a process to unfold at its own pace and deal only with what presents itself to be dealt with. You risk making things more complex by trying to account for every possibility. Relax and you'll cope admirably this week.

Gemini May 22 - Jun 22We're encouraged to exercise our bodies but how often are we encouraged to exercise our minds? Our brains process what we give them to process and it's not long before we become what we think most about. You're presented with an interesting opportunity this week to change a thought pattern and, through doing so, bring about a significant and much needed change where one is needed. A certain situation has been given enough thought and consideration. It's time to put an issue that has preoccupied you for too long to rest. Be brave, be bold and move on.

Cancer Jun 23 - Jul 23Some people thrive on overcoming what is believed to be impossible. They love nothing more than hearing that something 'can't be done'. In rising to such challenges, they want to silence disbelievers and prove something to themselves at the same time. This week, a challenge awaits you and overcoming it has much to do with you having faith in the fact that all you may have heard or convinced yourself about isn't true. Even if others have little faith in your ability to resolve an ongoing issue or drama, you know what you can do to achieve what might appear impossible.

Leo Jun 24 - Aug 23Why are we ever discouraged by others from doing something we - and they - know means much to us? One reason often surrounds jealousy. There are always some people who secretly hope we fail because they dread the thought that we might actually succeed. Another surrounds their fear of doing what we're attempting to do. This week, you could find yourself questioning your motivation in some way. You could find yourself wondering if perhaps negative encouragement you're receiving is more accurate than what you believe to be true. Only you can stop you.

Libra Sep 24 - Oct 23Laughter, we are told, is the best medicine. It also serves many other purposes. It's impossible to feel negative when smiling. It's also very difficult to see an issue as serious when a lighthearted attitude is taken toward it. This week, the sky is encouraging you to adopt a more relaxed attitude toward something you believe requires attention of the serious variety. A process is unfolding in its own way and time. The best thing you can do is let it do so without believing you need to treat it with seriousness it appears to demand. Relax and smile. All will be fine.

Scorpio Oct 24 - Nov 22People have a tendency sometimes to let other people down. When this happens, it is difficult for at least one half of the party to not feel disappointed or a host of other feelings. It's also easy to take being let down by another personally when there could actually be more than meets the eye to a situation. This week, avoid reading more into a certain situation that necessary. It could be easy to jump to certain conclusions or believe yourself to be victim of a deceitful plan. If an arrangement, relationship or friendship ends, then it is happening to make room for a new one.Sagittarius Nov 23 - Dec 21 Within any team, there is usually at least one star player. Such people know that glory they experience isn't earned without the support of teammates. Goals can rarely be scored without assistance from at least one other and it is your acceptance of help or support that surrounds the message from the cosmos to you now. You've recently tackled a daunting issue singlehandedly. It's time to call in a few favors or assistance that is on offer from at least one other person. Don't be shy or embarrassed to ask for it. You will make real, tangible progress if you do.

Capricorn Dec 22 - Jan 20Some people delight in placing their heads in the mouths of lions or alligators. This must surely be the ultimate sign of trust. Why though, would someone take such a risk? It can only be to demonstrate or prove to themselves how able they are to gain the trust of another. There is someone whom you appear to have a need to gain or possibly win back trust from. To do this, you're going to have to take a calculated risk. You're going to have to make yourself vulnerable in ways that will undoubtedly make you feel uncomfortable but it will be brief - and enlightening!

Aquarius Jan 21 - Feb 19In some card games, dealers provide another card until the player 'busts'. Skill on the player's part requires them to trust their instincts and knowledge of mathematical probability but, through their eagerness, they request more cards. The same can be said about where you need to draw a line in terms of your curiosity or insistence upon gaining information where you don't really need it. You're doing yourself no favors by monitoring a situation or believing there is more you need to know about it. Something far more worthwhile needs your attention.

Virgo Aug 24 - Sep 23What could go wrong? Aha. How dare I start your forecast in such a negative way. Why should I feel it important to focus so quickly on something negative. Perhaps, this has something to do with what you're doing. Maybe, you're convincing yourself that it is more prudent to focus on the 'down side' or reasons why you can't have something your heart knows you truly want. Through applying this process of self protection, you risk missing an opportunity. Something you want and need is available to you. This week, look closely for the clues and remain positive.

Pisces Feb 20 - Mar 20Sometimes, we overlook fun, pride and pleasure that can be had by fixing something. All too often, we look at what needs 'fixing' and see it as little more than an inconvenience when there are ways in which we can learn and benefit enormously from the process. At risk of sounding patronizing about your current drama and what needs resolving, the sky does suggest that a solution can be achieved by adopting a much more relaxed attitude toward it. You needn't take a matter as seriously as you have been. There is some fun to be had if you're willing to find it.

"Cool for Cats" was the second single released from Squeeze's Cool for Cats album. It featured a comparatively rare lead vocal performance from Squeeze lyricist Chris Difford, one of only two occasions he sang lead on a Squeeze single A-side (the other was 1989's "Love Circles"). The song, slightly edited from the album track, peaked at #2 on the UK Singles Chart, making it one of the band's biggest hits. Difford brought a Cockney accent to the way the lyrics were sung which makes it distinctive as well.

The title phrase is a reference to the 1950s/60s UK TV series Cool for Cats, the first British series to regularly feature rock 'n' roll music acts.

In 1992, thirteen years after its initial release, the track "Cool for Cats" was used in a British TV commercial for milk. The song was then re-issued in the UK, where it charted at #62. The song is also a playable track on Rock Band 2.

There is a persistent rumor that one of the two women dancing and singing the distinctive "Cool for Cats" chorus in the video to the song is Michelle Collins, who later found fame as Cindy Beale in BBC TV's EastEnders. However, during a radio interview in 2009, Collins said this was untrue (contradicting a 2002 interview).

From the rocks above the passThe cowboys take positionsIn the bushes and the grass

The squaw is with the CorporalShe is tied against the tree

She doesn't mind the languageIt's the beating she don't needShe lets loose all the horsesWhen the Corporal is asleep

And he wakes to find the fire's deadAnd arrows in his hats

And Davy Crockett rides aroundAnd says it's cool for cats

The Sweeney's doing ninety'Cos they've got the word to go

They get a gang of villainsIn a shed up at Heathrow

They're counting out the fiversWhen the handcuffs lock again

In and out of WandsworthWith the numbers on their names

It's funny how their missus'Always look the bleeding sameAnd meanwhile at the stationThere's a couple of likely lads

Who swear like how's your fatherAnd they're very cool for cats

They're cool for cats

To change the mood a littleI've been posing down the pub

On seeing my reflectionI'm looking slightly roughI fancy this, I fancy that

I wanna be so flashI give a little muscle

And I spend a little cashBut all I get is bitter and a nasty little rash

And by the time I'm soberI've forgotten what I've had

And ev'rybody tells me that it's cool to be a catCool for cats

Shake up at the discoAnd I think I've got a pullI ask her lots of questions

And she hangs on to the wallI kiss her for the first timeAnd then I take her home

I'm invited in for coffeeAnd I give the dog a boneShe likes to go to discos

But she's never on her ownI said I'll see you later

And I give her some old chatBut it's not like that on the TV

When it's cool for catsIt's cool for cats

We look at cricket's biggest earners ahead of the seventh Indian Premier League auction this week

FORGET the Ashes, World Cup or World Twenty20 — this is the date the world's cricketers have circled in their respective calendars.

The seventh Indian Premier League auction will be conducted this Wednesday and the world's elite cricketers, including a couple of Australians, are set to earn millions.

A list of 514 short-form cricketers will go under the hammer, with top contracts expected to fetch in excess of $2 million-per-season.

Australians Mitchell Johnson, David Warner, George Ba i l ey and Michael Hussey have been listed among the 16 marquee players up for grabs with a reserve price of $357,000.

Australians will be in heavy demand among IPL franchises this year. Whereas in the past national team duties have prevented Australians from raking in the big bucks in the world's premier domestic Twenty20 competition, a clear schedule should ensure they are snapped up this time around.

Check out our list of the biggest winners from previous IPL auctions.

Tennessee judge firedA Tennessee judge who ordered a baby's name changed from Messiah to Martin, saying the former was reserved for Jesus Christ, has been fired, court officials said.

C h i l d S u p p o r t Magistrate Lu Ann Ballew of Cocke County in eastern Tennessee last August ordered a boy's first name changed over the objections of his parents when they appeared before her seeking to settle other issues.

O. Duane Slone, presiding judge of the state's fourth judicial distr ict , terminated Bal lew's appointment, according to court documents.

Slone did not give a reason in his order, but Ballew had previously been cited by the Tennessee Board of Judic ia l Conduct for an inappropriate religious bias. A hearing is scheduled for March 3.

Ballew could not be reached for comment.

The board's chair, Judge Chris Craft of Shelby County, said in a statement that the board still has jurisdiction over Ballew, even though she is no longer on the bench.

Craft wrote that it is the duty of the board to inquire into the "commission of any act calculated to reflect unfavourably upon the judiciary of the state."

Both the mother, Jaleesa Martin, and the father, Jawaan McCullough, were insisting on their

r e s p e c t i v e surnames for baby Messiah. Ballew instead threw out the child's birth name and ordered the boy renamed Martin DeShawn McCullough.

" T h e w o r d 'messiah' is a title, and it's a title that has only been earned by one person, and that one person is Jesus Christ,"

the magistrate said at the time. The parents appealed, and

another judge held that Ballew's ruling was unconstitutional.

Messiah was the 387th most popular name for boys born in the United States in 2012, based on applications for Social Security cards filed with the U.S. Social Security Administration.

In all, there were 762 applications for boys named Messiah in 2012, more than double the 368 applications made in 2011, the Social Security Administration said.

People who lend cars for weddings face jail

A MP says a threat has been made to prosecute people who have lent their cars to f a m i l y o r f r i e n d s f o r weddings.

Family First MP Robert Brokenshire says several of his constituents in Adelaide have received warning letters after their cars were photographed being used for weddings.

He said a letter from the Transport Department claimed anyone runn ing t ranspor t passenger services without accreditation can face penalties of up to four years' jail or a $15,000 fine.

The owner of a vintage car said he was shocked to get a letter threatening to prosecute him for lending it to a family friend for a wedding.

Kevin May says he had been warned of the risk of jail or a fine for lending his 1969 XW GT Falcon to a bridal party.

He is demanding the w a r n i n g b e w i t h d r a w n immediately, saying it is an infringement of his human rights.

"I was quite upset about it at first - I thought it was a joke - and then when I studied the letter properly, you could see it had numbers on there and it was definitely an official letter and I thought 'God, blimey charlie, I was only trying to help someone out'," he said.

"I wasn't trying to get a fine -

$15,000 is a lot of money."

M r Brokenshire said the SA Government had gone mad.

"It's one thing to be out there catching rogues ... t h a t a r e i m p e r s o n a t i n g accredited hire car companies but when

a family friend lends the Subaru or the Ford Falcon to a friend for a wedding and they receive a demanding prosecution letter, it's absolutely outrageous," he said.

"Are the Government so tight with financial management at the moment that they're hitting innocent people with significant fines?

"I mean this is absolutely wrong. A person should be able to lend their car legitimately to a

friend for a wedding without intimidation or fear of a fine or prosecution."

Transpor t Depar tmen t manager for passenger transport, Bill Gonis, said the letters were only to inform people what was legally allowed.

"It's a letter of warning and advising them if they want to speak to someone at the office we are more than happy to help them with any inquiry they may have," he said.

" I f they're simply just providing that service for a friend of theirs that's fine, that's the end of that. Again I just have to make that clear that we're not prosecuting people who are simply driving their friends around.

"This is just really about ensuring public safety if some of these vehicles are going out, ensuring that some of these vehicles are roadworthy."

"That was the ceremony. It allowed us to show how perfect the rest of the show was."

Ernst brought rousing applause from Russian reporters when he denounced western media for trying to liken the technical failure to the ability of Russia to put on an Olympic Games.

A RUSSIAN television chief has admitted that TV pictures of the Olympic rings glitch at F r i d a y ' s o p e n i n g c e r e m o n y w e r e doctored, but that it was an open secret.

T h e c e r e m o n y , beamed to an estimated TV audience of two billion, got off to a rocky start when one o f f i v e i l l u m i n a t e d snowflakes suspended above the Fisht stadium and that were supposed to morph into the five Olympic rings failed to materialise.

That left the embarrassing sight of four giants rings and one smaller snowflake dangling in a corrupted representation of the Olympic movement's defining symbol.

But Ernst brushed off the incident and explained that organisers had already prepared for such an emergency after sweating for three weeks to get the image just right.

"The pictures were not edited. There was a version that you saw in the crowd and a version that viewers saw," Konstantin Ernst, the powerful boss of Russia's Channel One TV, said.

"We realised that the fifth ring was not going to light up so the mobile TV van sent a signal to the station and we decided to use footage we had already shot before.

"It's not a scandal - it's an open secret. It took us three weeks to make it work. One component failed but it did not insult anyone."

The charismatic Ernst even turned to Buddhism to support his claims.

"There is a saying that you have to kick out the uneven part of a perfectly polished ball to

Russia could not put on such a sophisticated show.

"This showed the new Russia and how different we are from the previous years."

Ernst also admitted he was aware that Turkey had scrambled an F-16 jet to force down an airliner from Ukraine when an apparently drunk would-be hijacker ordered it to Sochi.

The Ukrainian man, brandishing what he said was a detonator, tried to gain access to the cockpit of the aircraft operated by Turkey's Pegasus Airlines with 110 people on board, officials said.

The Interfax-Ukraine news agency reported that the man, 45, was inebriated and had neither a gun nor explosives.

"I knew of it but I didn't want the performers in the ceremony to be distracted. We had enough adenaline in our veins already," the 53-year-old Ernst said.

800,000-year-old UK footprintsScientists say they have discovered human footprints in England that are at least 800,000 years old - the most a n c i e n t f o u n d outside Africa, and t h e e a r l i e s t evidence of human life in Northern Europe.

A team from the British Museum, the Natural History Museum and the University of London uncovered imprints from up to five individuals in ancient estuary mud at Happisburgh on the country's east coast.

British Museum scientist Nick Ashton says the prints are "a tangible link to our earliest human relatives".

"This is an extraordinarily rare discovery," Ashton said.

"At first we weren't sure what we were seeing but as we removed any remaining beach sand and sponged off the seawater, it was clear that the hollows resembled prints, perhaps human footprints, and that we needed to record the surface as

quickly as possible before the sea eroded it away," he continued.

The scientists say the humans who left the footprints may have been r e l a t e d t o H o m o antecessor, or "pioneer man", hose fossilised remains have been found in Spain and who died out 800,000 years ago.

It is believed the group of early humans who lef t the pr ints consisted of one male

and several smaller people, likely females and chi ldren, the researchers said.

The only known footprints believed to be older than the newly discovered set in England are in Laetoli in Tanzania. They have been dated back 3.5 million years.

Free ring offered to right couple

A Perth man who has been unlucky in love is giving away a $3000 engagement ring with just one catch only the most deserving couple will do.

Emilson Wolff Fialho, known to his friends as Wolfie, said he almost sold the ring intended for his now former girlfriend to raise money to travel but had a change of heart.

Instead he advertised online for a suitor in want of a ring, warning it would only go to someone who promised "a happy ending".

"After putting a lot of thought into it, I realised that getting the money and travelling overseas would make it worse for me, as the best trips of my life I went on with my ex," he said.

"So instead I decided to give it away but with one condition: the guy has to show the same passion and willingness to go to the next step to propose as I had in mind. I won't give it away unless I find someone who shares the same passion and love as I do.

"I was not the perfect boyfriend, I do regret a lot of stuff I've done in the past and know it may be too late. That's why I wanna give someone else the opportunity to not waste any more time and do the right thing."

Since the advertisement was posted on Gumtree, the 28-year-old has been overwhe lmed by responses.

"Most of them feel very touched and thank me for (giving them) hope in humans again," he said.

"A lot of people are sharing their stories of happy endings, which I loved, and, of course, proposal ideas.

"Some people say I should give it to charity but this ring was not designed for charity, it was designed to make a lady happier than ever and a bloke to have the moment where his heart stops and he just can't think of anything else besides his lady."

H e s a i d a c o u p l e o f candidates had caught his eye but he did not want to rush into a decision.

"I'm after someone who already has the desire to propose, not someone who is seeing a chance to propose because of a free ring," he said.

Bali Safari and Marine Park Welcomes New Babies

Bali Safari and Marine Park, located on the outskirts of Bali's capital of Denpasar, has just welcomed three new rare animals to their zoo family.

As reported by the State News Agency Antara, on Saturday, February 8, 2014 the three “newcomers” at the Park are:

A male African Lion born on January 28, 2014 bred from strains of lions in Indonesia and New Zealand.

A male giraffe born on January 2, 2014 from German and

New Zealand breeding strains.

A female Sumatran elephant born on January 28, 2014 from local breeding stocks.

The three “new kids on the block” at the Bali Safari and Marine Park have yet to be given formal names.

William Santoso, general manager of the Bali Safari and Marine Park, said the new births are the park increase the l ion population to 21, the elephants to 32 and the giraffes to 3.

To ensure minimum stress for the Park's new babies, all three were kept under wraps until Saturday, February 8, 2013, when they were presented to zoo visitors for the first time.

Tim Husband, the curator of animals at the Bali Safari and Marine Park said the birth of the giraffe, elephant and lion at the zoo was proof that the Park remains

committed to education and conservation.

Husband said 2014 promises to be an interesting year at the Bali Safari and Marine Park with many rare births expected to occur among the Park's collection.

The Park is the only Conservation Park in Bali that has earned “A” accreditation.

Husband credits the park's breeding programs, the size of its collections and the care provided to animals by doctors and staff as the key to their continuing success.

If you're unlucky enough to be stricken with a rare medical condition, you'd better hope your doctor watches the right television show. That was the lesson for one German man with severe heart failure and a puzzling mix of symptoms including fever, blindness, deafness and enlarged lymph nodes, which stumped doctors for months. The 55-year-old man was diagnosed only when he was referred to Dr Juergen Schaefer, a fan of the US television medical drama, House."After five minutes, I knew what was wrong," said Schaefer, who works at the Centre for Undiagnosed Diseases in Marburg, north of Frankfurt. He said the man's symptoms matched up almost perfectly with a patient on an episode in which the fictional Dr Gregory House, played by British actor Hugh Laurie, identified cobalt poisoning as the cause. The series ended in 2012 after an eight-year run.Schaefer regularly uses the television series to teach medical students. When he saw the patient with heart failure in May 2012, he had recently prepared a lecture on the show's cobalt poisoning case, where House's future mother-in-law falls ill after receiving a faulty metal hip.Though the German patient's previous doctors thought he needed a heart transplant, Schaefer and colleagues immediately tested his cobalt levels after he complained his problems started after his last operation to replace a broken ceramic hip.Schaefer said some small fragments of the ceramic hip remained and were grinding into the metal replacement, which leaked cobalt and chromium into the patient's bloodstream.Once the hip was replaced, the patient's heart got better and his other symptoms improved.Schaefer and colleagues wrote about their experience in a case report published online Friday in the journal, Lancet. The patient wasn't identified."We would have diagnosed this even without Dr. House," Schaefer said."You could have also typed his symptoms into Google and gotten the diagnosis."

He said doctors should be aware of possible cobalt poisoning in patients with metal hip replacements. While Schaefer said he is sometimes referred to as the German Dr House, he isn't sure the nickname is a compliment. The television doctor was known as much for his rude, abrasive manner as for his expertise in diagnosing rare ailments."I would have fired this guy after the first three episodes," Schaefer said.Still, he said the fictional doctor's appalling bedside manner was ultimately outweighed by his unparalleled diagnostic skills."It's important to be nice, but you don't get patients healthy just by being nice."

South Africa insists Mitchell Johnson won't have same impact on them as he did England

M I T C H E L L J o h n s o n ' s turnaround from career-worst to career-best bowling shocked England, but the left-armer won't have the same effect on South Africa according to Hashim Amla and Faf du Plessis.

Johnson's low point came in a miserable 2009 Ashes campaign, and he then slogged through an unremarkable 2010-11 edition of cricket's greatest rivalry save for a stellar performance in Perth.

The Johnson that then blasted England away, taking 37 wickets to be man of the series in the 2013-14 Ashes, was an unfamiliar and frightening beast for the tourists.

S o u t h A f r i c a n s b e s t remember the early 2009 Johnson vintage - a confronting blend of broken bones, buckets of wickets

and a maiden Test century with the bat.

The Australian camp feel Johnson is an improved bowler on what the Proteas have ever seen in person.

But run-scoring machine Amla says his side knows exactly what will be charging in when the first Test starts on Wednesday in Centurion.

“The surprise factor is valuable for any team. I don't think in this series there's too many surprise factors,” Amla replied when asked on Monday if South Africa would be better prepared to handle Johnson's thunderbolts than England.

“We've played against Australia quite a few times over the past few years , and (predominant ly) the same bowling attack as well.”

AB de Villiers expressed similar sentiments last week, as

did du Plessis.“We've played against Mitchell

before. He's a fantastic bowler and he's playing really well, but it's not something that we haven't seen,” said du Plessis.

“We have to respect he's bowling really well at he moment and find ways to deal with it, but we're ready.”

South Africa are yet to beat Australia in a Test series at home since the nation's readmission post-apartheid in 1994.

Amla admitted the record was a motivating factor for a team that has been No.1 in the ICC's Test rankings since August 2012.

“Over the past few series we've played against Australia we have had success, and it would be nice to translate that success into a home series,” Amla said, referencing series wins in 2008-09 and 2012.
