Article abstract

This paper is a critical study which sets out to highlight theelements and instruments of a theory of transition in theworks of Marx. Based on an exegesis of the work, a generaltheory of transition is exposed, defined principally in terms ofthe notions of real subsumption (or subordination) and formalsubsumption, constructing linkages theoretically betweenproductive forces and the social relationships of productionwhich prevail within societies. At the end of the paper, theauthor adresses the limits of this theory from the point of viewof the transition of societies toward socialism and thedefinition of the role of ideology in any transition process.
