“People should regard us as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.” 1 Corinthians 4:1

Welcome to

the LaSalle

Parishes! We especially welcome all visitors to Mass and pray that you will be blessed through your participation at our liturgy today. In the Catholic Church the reception of Holy Communion is a mark of formal union with the Church. Catholics who are disposed and who have prepared themselves through regular sacramental confession, prayer, and fasting are permitted to present themselves for Communion. We encourage our guests to use this time to make a spiritual communion in their heart and to join us in our prayers and hymns. Please feel free to ask questions before or after the Mass. We are glad to talk and pray with you!

Eucharistic Adoration Come and pray with the Lord throughout the day. Please consider also committing to an hour of prayer as a scheduled adorer. See the website for available hours.

Son, Jesus. If you would like to pray on your own, you can order the CD "Advent: Rethinking the Season" using this link or download the MP3 on your device.https://www.lighthousecatholicmedia.org/store/speaker/drtimgray

Trinity Catholic AcademyAndrew’s Giving Tree: As in years past, the TCA 8th Grade students are sponsoring Andrew’s Giving Tree. Once again, all of the gifts will be donated to St. Jude’s Children Hospital in Peoria, IL. Because of your generosity last year, we delivered over 100 gifts to the

hospital! Your unwrapped gifts can be brought to the TCA school office or placed under the Christmas tree at St. Patrick Church by Sunday, December 9. Please be sure to include the name tag ornament from the Giving Tree with your donated gift. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Deb Myers, [email protected], or call the school, 8152238523. Thank You and Merry Christmas!

Amazon Smile: Did you know that Amazon.com donates to TCA? When you shop through their charitable portal, Smile.Amazon.com, all of the same products are available at the same prices, and a portion of every sale is donated to TCA! But, to make sure that donation to TCA happens, you must select TCA as the designated charitable organization or use this direct link:http://smile.amazon.com/ch/202246438.

Back to the 80’s Trivia Night: at Trinity Catholic Academy on Saturday, February 16. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., Trivia starts at 6:30 p.m. Cost: $100 per table, up to 10 people. Reserve your spot: email [email protected] or call 8157809991.

LaSalle Celebration of Lights: Visit the beautiful Christmas lights drivethrough display at LaSalle Rotary Park, open now through December 31st from 510 p.m. weekdays and 511 p.m. on weekends. Over 50 displays sponsored by businesses, individuals, and nonprofit organizations, including Trinity Catholic Academy, will be on display. Be sure to visit on TCA Night Tuesday, December 11 as a portion of the proceeds will go to support TCA!

During the winter months we need to take extra precautions to avoid the spread of colds and flu. As in previous years, we will begin not explicitly inviting the sign of peace before Holy Communion. Please feel free to wave and nod and smile to those around you, but we don't want anyone to feel obligated to shake hands if they might be contagious or vulnerable. At St. Patrick's, we will continue to offer Holy Communion under both species, but by means of intinction instead of the cups. We will put in extra efforts to sanitize the pews and door handles and other surfaces. Sunday Mass is very important to us as Catholics, but please remember that if you are sick, you are not obligated to come to Mass.

Sneeze and Cough Station: If you need something for a persistent cough that develops at Mass, we have you covered! In the back of each church you will find small bottles of water, tissues, sanitizer, and cough drops. A cough drop used as medicine doesn't violate the Communion fast, but please don't receive the Eucharistic Lord with the drop still in your mouth!

Cold & Flu Season Precautions

Catholic Charities Giving Tree at St. HyacinthIf you wish to participate in the Giving Tree program at St. Hyacinth, please take an ornament from the tree at the back of the church. Each ornament has a specific gift request. Please return your gift to the church or the parish office by Sunday, December 16. Catholic Charities serves the most vulnerable throughout the Diocese through a variety of outreach programs to provide help and create hope in the lives of those in need. This year, we have 10 local families who will benefit from the giving tree. Thank you for your participation in this worthwhile program!

He teaches Spanish to kindergarten through eighth grade at TCA on Mondays, as well as to other area schools on different days. Mr. Arteaga stresses the importance of

teaching culture as well as language to his students. In addition to his teaching duties, he also coaches women’s soccer at IVCC, high school club soccer, and boys basketball at Dimmick. He was recently featured in an article in the NewsTribune, “Meet Rey Arteaga: Teacher, coach and allaround good guy.” Welcome to TCA, Mr. Arteaga!
