GLORIA Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of good will. We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you, we give you thanks for your great glory, Lord God, heavenly King, O God, almighty Father. Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us; you take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer; you are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us. For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen.

Please help us by participating in a 10-15 minute survey online. The survey can be accessed at www.disciplemakerindex.com from Sunday, February 23 to Monday, March 23, 2020, and will ask you to reflect on your own spiritual growth and enable you to provide feedback on our parish’s efforts to help you grow. ARE WE SALT AND LIGHT OF THE WORLD?

Dear brothers, We are at a time and age where people seem to be at loss in regard to their search for meaning. Perhaps because there are so many options in kinds, it is more difficult for our youth to decide on a path that leads to a life personal fulfillment and realization. Oriental cults abound, all kinds of meditation, Zen and the like that promise to bring us peace and personal fulfillment. However, even those means are insufficient to quench the inner thirst of contemporary man. I have known many cases of people who have tried all kinds of cults and practices of the New Age, and in the end, they are left with a great emptiness, and a deep disappointment that has made them skeptical and hard in accepting spiritual realities. But for those of us who know the saving and liberating power of Jesus Christ, this is not the case. Like all human beings, we who follow Jesus also have difficulties, challenges to face. Even so, we have hope, we are certain that those who are under God's loving gaze will not be disappointed. We can find peace following Jesus and his message, even during the storm. And that is what we need, Catholics, Christians convinced of their faith, Christians who show the world that by having Jesus in our lives we can live our lives with meaning, without fear, and with the certainty that we are following the One who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. When that certainty is noticeable on our face, in the way we treat others with compassion, in the way we do business with total honesty and do our best without expecting anything in return, WE ARE BEING THE LIGHT AND SALT FOR THE WORLD. For a world that is governed by the law of pleasure, the law of trampling others to excel, valuing money more and using people, rather than valuing people themselves. ¿SOMOS LA SAL Y LUZ DEL MUNDO?

Queridos hermanos, Estamos viviendo un tiempo donde la gente (especialmente nuestros jóvenes) parecen perdidos en el mundo. Ahora que hay mas opciones y posibilidades, parece que es más difícil decidirse por un camino que lleve a nuestros jóvenes a una vida plena y de realización personal. Abundan los cultos orientales, toda clase de meditación, zen y cosas por el estilo que prometen brindarnos paz y realización personal. Sin embargo, aun esos medios resultan insuficientes para saciar la sed interior del hombre contemporáneo. He conocido muchos casos de personas que han probado toda clase de cultos y prácticas de la Nueva Era, y al final quedan con un gran vacío, y un sinsabor que les ha vuelto escépticos y duros de aceptar las realidades espirituales. Pero para quienes conocemos el poder salvador y liberador de Jesucristo, este no es el caso. Como todos los seres humanos, quienes seguimos a Jesús también tenemos dificultades, retos que enfrentar. Aun así, tenemos esperanza, tenemos la certeza de que los que estamos bajo la mirada amorosa de Dios no seremos defraudados. Siguiendo a Jesús y su mensaje, podemos encontrar paz, aun en medio de la tormenta. Y eso es lo que necesitamos, católicos, cristianos convencidos de su fe, cristianos que muestren al mundo que con Jesús en nuestras vidas podemos vivir nuestra vida con sentido, sin temores, y con la certeza de que estamos siguiendo a Aquel que es el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida. Cuando esa certeza se nota en nuestro rostro, en la forma como tratamos a otros con compasión, en nuestra forma de hacer negocios con total honestidad y damos lo mejor de nosotros mismos sin esperar nada a cambio, AHÍ ESTAMOS SIENDO LUZ Y SAL PARA EL MUNDO. Para un mundo que se rige por la ley del placer, la ley de pisotear a otros para sobresalir, el valorar mas el dinero y el uso de la persona, mas que a la persona misma. ¿En que categoría te ubicas tu en este momento de tu vida?
