Welcome to Law 12 at Learn@Home This course consists of four Modules that are broken down into sections. Each section has several assignments. This Activation Assignment consists of the three assignments from Module 1, Section 1.1: The Nature of Law. Please read over and complete the attached activities. The required readings are located at the back of this package . Upon completion of these activities, please book an appointment with Learn@Home and bring your work and registration forms into Learn@Home to complete your enrollment in the program – if you have previously enrolled in a course, you only need to bring in the Activation Assignment. During your meeting you will be given your own Blackboard User Name. Activation Assignment Welcome to Law 12 with Learn@Home. Your first assignment for this course is to complete Section 1.1 and the first part of 1.2 as indicated below. You will need to use a scanned section of the first part of the Textbook and is found below. When you have submitted the Activation Assignment, you will be given a textbook and your own login and password.
To access the course you will need to go to http://online.openschool.bc.ca/ , click on Blackboard Learn 9 and use the following username and password: Username: law12 Password: law12 Go to Class Content. You will be working from Module 1: Fundamentals of Law. Complete the following sections and activities: Section 1.1 The Nature of Law Lesson 1.1A: Law: Definition and Purposes. You can move through each of the sections by clicking on the Forward arrow in the upper right. You should do the Guided Practices even though you will not need to submit them. They and the readings will give you the background information you need to be successful when doing the Section Assignments. Read and do the practices for all three lessons in this section. You will need to submit the Section Assignments, Part A: The Purposes of Law, Part B: The Rule of Law, and Part C: The Dynamic Nature of Law. Section 1.2 History, Evolution, and Classification of Canadian Law Read and do the practices for all of Lesson 1.2. You will need to submit the Section Assignments, Part A: The Historical Background to Canadian Law and Part B: Sources of Canadian Law. Note that, in the course, the assignment letters, A, B, C, etc. do not necessarily match up with the Lesson letters, A, B, C, etc. Congratulations, you are finished your Activation Assignment! Do not do anything further with this login. You will be given your own unique login and password, as well as the required textbooks, in order to continue on with the course.
