Today’s business executives are

forced to lead in a VUCA world; one

that is volatile, uncertain, complex,

and ambiguous. To respond to

changes and challenges, leaders

must be agile, flexible, innovative

and forward-thinking.. They have to

be able to look at issues from

different angles.

Combining intellectual insight and

practical expertise, the “Leadership

In Action” Programme, run by the

Inspirational Development Group

(IDG) in conjunction with the

Institute of Banking Studies Kuwait,

is designed to equip participants

with the understanding, skills and

confidence to make the right critical

decisions and to develop and drive

themselves and their organisations

by inspiring their people.

This 5 day experiential programme

invites you to explore and develop

the means of building your own

leadership capabilities and a

leadership culture in your

organization, one of the tools of

which is to link military doctrine to

civilian leadership. It is a unique

opportunity.

What

Leadership in action is about making

good choices in the Banking sector

in an uncertain and complex

environment. Strategic leaders work

through others by combining a

leadership style that is authoritative,

well-informed and inspires others

and with a deep knowledge of their

business and its environment. The

strategic choices they make carry

commercial insight and personal

authority. Our Leadership in Action

(LIA) programme has been designed

around what it takes to design,

develop and support transformation

in the contemporary business.

These qualities include:

• Strategic thinking, planning and

communication skills that will

enable you to play a full part in

the design and implementation of

strategy in your organisation

• The personal presence,

authenticity and impact that will

enable you to exert the influence

skills required to take people with

you

• The ability to manage and

leverage the complexity and

ambiguity that you will encounter

in transforming your organisation

in the current commercial

environment

• A board level perspective on key

business processes – people

management, shareholder

relations and responsibilities,

corporate governance and

reputation management

• The ability to leverage diversity in

support of better working

practices, more effective decision

making and greater well-being

• A personal leadership practice

balancing commercial necessity

with wider social responsibility

Who

LIA is designed for mid to senior

level leaders who have the potential

to lead at a higher level in their

Bank. The programme content is

ideal for specialists or technical

experts who are looking to lead

outside of their science or function.

Whether you are a leader who has

business experience but who lacks

formal business schooling, or you

hold an MBA, you will find LIA new

and stimulating and the emphasis

on personal leadership and practical

experiential application very

refreshing.

How

The programme is delivered by

faculty from the Inspirational

Development Group (IDG). A mix of

former Army officers and senior

business leaders. IDG has an

exclusive partnering agreement with

the Royal Military Academy

Sandhurst, an establishment world

renowned for leadership. This

unique partnership gives IDG a

distinctive blend of cutting edge

insights from the Military leadership

coupled with up to date knowledge,

best practices and real-life insights

on leadership in the commercial

world.

The programme will run from

Saturday to Wednesday, conducted

part in central London and part at

Sandhurst. It blends lectures, case

discussions and group work: and

participants can expect a highly

experiential week taking part in a

range of activities, simulations and

exercises – some in the classroom,

some at famous British institutions

like the Bank of England and the

House of Lords; and some using the

facilities at Sandhurst to create a

uniquely challenging and personal

experience. It will also include some

dinner events with senior leader

speakers. Con

The programme will start with an intensive first day of experiential learning

taking place in the heart of Mayfair, London. On Sunday morning you will

transfer to Sandhurst where you will spend the next 2 days in the environment

where the British Army trains its officers and understand what it means to lead

men and women in times of extreme stress. Your visit there will conclude with

dinner in one of the prestige rooms where many VIPs, World Leaders & Royal

Families have dined. We will complete the programme in Mayfair with more

experiential learning, afternoon visits - to include a talk at a London

Institution such as the Bank of England or the London Stock exchange – tea at

the House of lords and a final formal dinner with a guest to end the

programme on a high.

The Inspirational Development

Group (IDG) is a global leadership

and management performance

consultancy working with countries,

corporations and enterprises to

deliver sustainable change in

individual, team and organisational

behaviour.

IDG is a very different type of

development organisation; we are

committed to work in partnership

with our clients to delivering

sustainable improvement for both

individual participants and their

organisations. The results of our

efforts and expertise are reflected in

the quality of our clients and the

outstanding references they and

their people who have engaged in

the ‘IDG experience’ are willing to

give us. We believe that nowhere is

this more true than in the financial

services industry for whom we have

worked with many leading

companies on many programmes

which have been hugely successful

both at an individual and a

corporate level.

IDG has a unique partnering

agreement with the Royal Military

Academy Sandhurst (RMAS), a

global centre of excellence which

trained future leaders for both the

British Army and others from across

the world including many from the

Middle East.

Our approach is based on extensive

experience and a firm belief that

people cannot be “taught” to be

leaders nor to work as a team.

However, through a combination of

well-designed and facilitated

activities they can be helped to

understand, value and capitalise on

their individual talents and

experiences. They can also be

helped to develop key skills and to

modify behaviours that are

unhelpful and may work against the

common purpose.
