Learning Intention: To identify the important details in a non-fiction text and then write a summary. The students investigated the features of a non-fiction text; researched an endangered animal making sure to only record the most important information; wrote a summary in their own words; published their Information Report and then presented their report to their classmates. My endangered animal was on a lemur. I chose this endangered animal because they looked cute. A fact I learnt was that their favourite food is leaves, plants and now and again they eat insects and bugs. Sophie My Information Report was on the three toed sloth. An interesting fact I learnt was that they grow algae on their fur. Alira My Information Report was on the Tasmanian Devil. An Interesting fact I learnt was that if the adult Tasmanian devils are starving they eat their babies. I think my report was excellent because it was neat and I put it in my own words Chloe My Information Report was on the Narwhal because I hate the damage people are doing to them. An interesting fact I learnt is that lady Narwhals only have 1 baby every 3 years. I think my report was a 3 because it looks neat, has lots of detail and is in my own words. Georgia My Information Report was on the Sumatran Tiger. An interesting fact was Sumatran Tigers eat monkeys. I think my report was poor because I didn't get it finished. Oscaray My information report was on Largetooth Sawfish. An interesting fact I learnt was that a sawfish nose is called a rostrum. I think my report was excellent!! Cooper
