Beam house
By starting producing leather the first step takes place in the Beam house. Those procedures are the preparation of the skin from bovines, sheeps, goats, bigs, camels, birds, fishes and other animals for the leather production. soaking, liming, degreasing and pickling require high performance auxiliaries in order to receive the best quality of intermediate leather products in the subsequent production processes.
SoakingThis procedure removes dirt and preservation salt from the raw skins and the original water content will be easily
restored. Premium quality results after the traditional leather production process will be received by using BusseTTI
wetting- and degreasing agents which are Made in Austria/EU.

Tanning maTerialsTo avoid further rotting process of the per-treated raw skin, different chemicals can be used to crosslink the
3-dimensional matrix of the protein chains. This procedure is called tanning and in general four different kinds of
tanning processes are well known in the industry: mineral, vegetable, synthetic and aldehyde / oil tanning.
Mineral TanningThe standard nowadays is the use of Chrome(III)sulphate and aluminium(III)-sulphate. For tanning, retanning and
fixing we recommend our BusseTTI product portfolio as follows:

Syntan These quality chemicals are based on synthetic building blocks which are similar to the natural tanning materials, but
show better efficiency and less impurities to avoid any negative side effects.

FaTlIquors
FaTliquorsThe main task of the fatting agents is to replace the original water content and function inside the leather skin. They
enable and support the leather producer achieving an excellent soft and smooth leather skin. We offer a broad
natural or synthetic fatting agents portfolio for treating the tanned skin through intensive flexing. For the optimum
fixing of the fatting agents in the different kinds of leathers our fatliquors are modified in many different ways.
our product portfolio covers all kinds of different fatting agents as anionic, cationic, non-ionic, hydrophobic and
polymeric fatting agents. In addition we offer also neutral oils for additional and refatting.
Anionic Fatliquorsas a basic material for our anionic products we use natural and synthetic raw materials which become water
soluble by sulphating and/or sulphiting processes. our sulTIT product line represents the sulphited fatting agents,
sulphated fatting agents are encompassed by our olINDol and laroNaT product line. Combinations of sulphited
and sulphated processes are our sulTosol series.
all our products can be combined and mixed with different kinds of vegetable oils as rapeseed oil, soya oil and
linseed oil. Further fish and synthetic oils can be used. our PelaNTol series consist of emulsions of water and oil
mixtures (i.e. lecithine) and can be anionic or non-ionic.

Waterproofing Fatliquors
hydrophobic materials are used to reduce water penetration of the finished leather goods during the leather
production process. Depending on the production process and chemicals used, the hydrophobic effect can be
adjusted to have a short, medium or long term water repellent effect. short term water repellent leathers are often
used for sports and hunting articles. Fatting agents providing long term water resistance are applied for military
leather.

purpose applications and deliver very good light fastness. Due to their small particle sized emulsion our non-ionic
fatting agents have an excellent storage stability.

Polymeric Softener, AUROSOFT LFPolymeric based softener are applied very successfully in the industry for years. Due to its long-chained polymeric
structure aurosoft lF enables outstanding and unique physical properties such as
• light-fastness • Fixing • heat- & cold resistance • Flexibility • Durability
aurosoft lF can be easily fixed with acids and delivers by its polar character a very strong stable and flexible
3-dimensional matrix anchored on the leather fibers.
Chrome reducing effect by using Aurosoft LF as fatliquor
Beside its softening effect aurosoft lF prevents the blocking from Chrome3+ to Chrome6+.
Test results BlC, 2002
Achieving Automotive industry standard fogging test EN 14288
In today´s automotive industry the fogging behavior of the leather interior is one of the key criteria. using aurosoft lF
for the automotive interior leather equipment like seats, doors, steering wheel or car dashboards, provides excellent
results as 1,0 – 1,5 mg method B in crust leather. The world leading automotive producers require a fogging value
of 3 – 5 mg.

100ppm of a Chrome3+ solution + Phosphate buffer + hydrogen peroxide was prepared to ensure the formation of Chrome6+. In another solution 0,2g aurosoft lF was added to the Chrome3+ solution together including hydrogen peroxide & Phosphate buffer. The Chrom6+ content was measured according to uIC18 by the British leather Test Institute BlC. Those test results demonstrate that by using aurosoft lF our clients are on the safe side for any Chrome(VI) discussion.

Surface Fatting agentsThe main function of our surface fatting agents is the additional fatting of standard fatted leather types. special
required leather properties as gloss, appearance, softness, silk-touch, etc. for different leather articles can be
modified. The different effects can be controlled by the use level which is between 5% and 10% as add-on to the
standard fatting agent use level, or 0,5% -1,0% on wet leather. our surface fatting agents are the preferred fatting
material for vegetable leathers and avoid the break of leather grains. The buildup of fat-spews is blocked during
longer storage of the leather articles.
Beside the classic neutral oils we are offering also especially modified fish oil based products for the traditional
chamois tanning process for premium leather trousers in austrian & Bavarian style. also inlays of cycle trousers
benefit from its high end properties.

Defoamer The use of defoamers during the dyeing process in drums and different spray application controls and avoids the foam formation which enables our customers’ better productivity.
Fixing For fixing the fatting agents and dyestuff mainly cationic materials are used.
Antistatica Flarostat a 50 has been proven many times as sand-aid for easier dust cleaning by controlling the charge of the particles.
Antioxidant By using our Bucotan C6 during the wet-process – at least before the leather drying - the oxidation from Chrome3+ to Chrome6+ complex is successfully blocked.
