We are off and running on another year. How fast they seem to come and go. I was told as you get older the years go faster. If that is the case I’m going to pass myself. This will be some old burned out information for some of the long time members, but for the newer members here is some information about me, the cap-tain of the ship. I was born in Freeport, IL and brought up in Eliza-beth, IL, a little German farming community of about 735 folks in the N.W. Corner of IL. I went to school in Elizabeth and after graduation I joined the Air Force and was stationed Lackland, San Antonio & Sheppard, Wichita Falls TX, Lockbourne, Columbus OH, Lor-ing, Limestone ME, Nouasseur, Casablanca Morocco, Zaragoza Spain and McGuire, Trenton NJ. Three years of that time I was in Strategic Air Command, Combat Defense Force After the Air Force, I worked in Rockford IL at Sundstrand Corp & Barber Colman, they both went on strike. I got married and moved to Albuquerque for about 6-1/2 years and worked for Barabe Foods, Weyerhaeuser Co and Albuquerque Lumber. Moved to Dallas with Weyerhaeuser, Carrollton June 1969. Then I worked for Bowie, Sims & Prange, Carrollton

SAMPLELegends Color PictoriaL

MeMbershiP directory

The club is producing a Color Pictorial Directory for our club members so that we can get to know each other better. We all know that we identify each other by our Corvettes... not our names. This direc-tory will put faces, spouses, names and Corvettes together and hopefully will make a stronger club. The club’s pictorial directory is ready for members to proof and approve. Many members approved their information at the After-Holiday Party. You can proof, edit and approve your information and photos at the February meeting at Pappasito’s on February 12. We have photos of many members and in some cases we have pictures of your Corvette(s). We may need you to supply a photo of you and your spouse (if applicable) and pictures of your Corvette(s) even if they’re under construction. The address, phone(s), email, Corvette description, etc. that we’ve used are taken from your Legends Membership Application. If that info is no longer correct, you can change it or email current

information and photos to [email protected]. We value your privacy and plan to print copies of the directory to be given only to current members. We’re asking members to also agree to not release the personal information included to anyone outside the club. If you prefer not to have photos or certain infor-mation included in our membership directory just delete that info from the proof copy. The information we want to include is:

Name & SpouseAddress, City, State, Zip

Home PhoneWork Phone

Cell Phone(s)E-mail addresses

Corvette info: year, color, model(List and picture as many Vettes as you want.)Are you an armed forces veteran?

Member of the Year-Jerry Echols For the third year Larry Dyer presented the Corvette Legends of Texas Member of the Year Award at the After-Holiday Party. The recipient each year represents a true and avid Corvette enthusi-ast within our club in many ways. In Larry’s presentation he listed many reasons that Jerry Echols received this honor.· He truly demonstrates the authentic spirit of the Corvette Sport.· He is always there to lend a hand, or offer advice.· He is a frequent participant in weekend wrenches to help other

members with repairs and projects on their Corvettes.· He drives his car EVERYWHERE!!!· CLoT newsletter articles about him driving the complete distance of old Route 66 two years ago and this year driving the full lengthofthePacificCoasthighwayshowhisenthusiasmforthe full enjoyment of the old car.· He has accepted the club position of VP of Special Events to re-

place Larry Dyer who says, “I’m glad he’s taking over my position because.onmorethanoneoccasion.hefilledinformeatthe

set-up of AutoRama or the new car show, when I couldn’t show up because of work.”

· Larry also says that Jerry has stated, when our two cars were parked side by side, that his car looks like mine does in the morning before make-up.

· This shows you don’t need a numbers match-ing show winner with perfectpaintandflashychrome to fully enjoy your Corvette, participate in the club and become Member of the Year.

5-Car Garage, 3-bed, 2-bath1003 Timber Valley, Flower Mound

Great little house for the car guy. Rear entry drive-way detached 3-car garage with lots of storage up-stairs. Attached 2-car garage that’s been converted to a family room, but could easily be “re-garaged”. Fenced side yard big enough for your dog. Vaulted ceilingsinlivingandmaster.Wood-burningfireplace.Lewisville schools (as if a car guy cares), close to everything.

We tried to buy this house in our neighborhood, when we were moving to FLower Mound in 2004. It’s empty now and probably for sale again!!! Don’t know current condition. --Diane Preston

I had the Corvette two weeks and totaled it, as I went to sleep at the wheel fivemin.frommyhouse.WrotealettertoGMaboutthe mishap. They called and asked if I wanted another Z06 and I said yes.
