DiscussionAsk students what are their favorite pets and what facts they know about them. Let them

express their ideas.

Students will have time to think about the asked question so they can express their ideas confidently. Students can talk to their partners about their favorite pet.

Video: Ancient Egyptian AnimalsShow students video of ancient Egyptian animals. Before that, ask them to think of differences between today’s animals and

ancient animals. They can write their ideas on a paper to not forget.

Students will watch the video and they can take notes as they think of differences between today’s animals and ancient animals.

Ancient Egyptian Animals FactsShow students PowerPoint slides that include

facts and pictures and ask them questions while explaining the facts. Let them think of

question also, to quiz their friends.

Students should listen carefully to the facts so they can answer the asked question. They will be asked to think of a question to ask their peers.

Extension: If time, let them make posters.

Writing in HieroglyphsTell students that ancient Egyptians used

special symbols as letters and some of them were symbols of animals.

Each group will be provided with hieroglyphics. The teacher will show the

hieroglyphics using the hieroglyphs’ website.

Students should use the hieroglyphs they have to make the word and discover what it is. The quicker they make the word, the more points they get. They will check their answer with the teacher.

Ask students what they liked about the lesson and evaluate themselves and their

understanding.

Students can brainstorm what they learnt in pairs and then evaluate what they did in the lesson.
