Youth on Their Own founded in 1986, serves homeless Pima County students in grades 7 thru12 by supplying access to resources and skills for them to live independently, stay in school, and graduate. YOTO provides vulnerable teens financial assistance through a stipend program. The students may earn a monthly stipend up to $140 based on their good grades and attendance during the academic year. The YOTO Mini-Mall allows students to purchase basic needs such as food, clothing, hygiene items and school supplies; LHM Tucson Charities helped fund an additional 40 students Living Expense Stipends. Miller Group and its employees paid tribute to the late Larry H. Miller by participating in a company- wide Day of Service by giving back to their community. Sixty-five LHM Tucson employee volunteers put on their green T-shirts and rallied the troops to assist the following local organizations projects. Literacy Connects Org., in the Reading Seed Center located at the Goodwill complex on East Silverlake Road. LHM employee volunteers spent their time cleaning and repairing 1000 used books so our local kindergarden through third grade readers may enjoy their reading experience. Interfaith Community Services (ICS) Food Bank located on West Ina Road lends a helping hand to Pima County residents that fall below the poverty level. LHM employee volunteers packed boxes with nutritious foods, diapers and hygiene items helping to improve area families quality of life. Freedom Park at East 29th Street, ADOPT-A-PARK & PUBIC AREA program. LHM employee volunteers spent their time in nature cleaning, raking, and improving the park so all Tucsonians may revel in the scenic pleasures of the environment. Habitat for Humanity located at Copper Vista Development in Tucson. LHM employee volunteers broke a sweat working hard at the construction site hammering, painting and delivering supplies. LHM employees answered the call to volunteer their time for a Day of Service

On April 25th, the Larry H. Miller Group and its employees paid tribute to the late Larry H. Miller by participating in a company-wide Day of Service by giving back to their community. “Give Us Five” LHM Charities invite employee generosity to make a difference in our community

“Give Us Five” funds contributed by employees to Larry H. Miller Charities stay in our state to help your community. As an employee, you help children and women in our community by partnering with LHM Charities. Gail Miller matches all “Give Us Five” contributions received. All you have to do is donate $5.00 per month to “Give Us Five”. Some individuals may prefer giving more or less; the amount is up to you. To join the “Give Us Five”, contact locally based employees who serve as representatives. Remember there is power in numbers, and a donation from each employee makes a big difference!

Employee Submission of Community Non-profit Charity LHM welcomes employee charity considerations. Please read foundation guidelines to determine if the prospective charity meets restricted criteria listed below. Contact your store representative in order to obtain submission forms or for help with any questions that my arise.Please be aware that a response to your suggested charity submitted may take up to 90 days. _________________________________________________________________

Foundation BackgroundLarry H. Miller Charities is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization set up in 1995 to operate as

the charitable arm of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies. The board of trustees consists of 12 individuals: two members of the Miller family, two members of the general public and eight employees who represent the various branches of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies. Board members generally meet every six to eight weeks to consider donation requests that have passed an initial review and filtering process. The board of trustees is based in Utah, with employee subcommittees in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Oregon and Washington.

Funds available for donation come from these three sources:1. Monthly contributions from Larry H. Miller companies2. Contributions from employees of Larry H. Miller companies3. Contributions from members of the general public via fundraisers

Foundation GuidelinesFunding is provided to groups whose programs and services benefit those who live in the

same communities where Larry H. Miller companies conduct business. Our giving focuses on established programs that assist women and children, with emphasis placed on the issues of health and education.

Due to nonprofit restrictions within funding guidelines, LHM cannot sponsor or contribute to:1. Private individuals or earmark donation funds for use by specific individuals, even

through a church or other nonprofit organizations; start-up groups or programs2. Fundraising dinners, golf tournaments, races or other similar events 3. LHM Charities does not donate vehicles
