It’s become fashionable to say something along the lnes of, “I’m a follower of Christ, but I am not a Christian.” The Church has a bit of an image problem. Jesus’ one- word descriptions of the Pharasees are very similar to the average person’s description of Christians today. How do we go about changing our image? How do we begin to look more like Jesus? Pastor Josh Surratt gave us three keys to a spiritual makeover and going deeper as we live out our beliefs: 1. Clean out the closet a. Read and reflect on Colossians 3:5-9. Which of the items on the list do you need to put to death? b. What is hindering your effectiveness as a believer? 2. Update the wardrobe a. Read and reflect on Colossians 3:10-15. What new characteristics can you pcik up in place of the ones you put to death? b. Do you live with an attitude of gratitude? Or a sense of entitlement? 3. Try it on at home before you wear it out a. It’s easy to love people from afar, when you have limited intereaction with them. But what about the people that live with you? How would they characterize you? What was your biggest take-away from the weekend message? Respond What do you feel like God is asking you to do in response to the weekend message? What is your next step? How can your Small Group support you and hold you accountable in this? Read Colossians 3:5-9
